Trying to buy a $10 topup card through the website, and when I add a $10 card to the cart, I get the error

Online shop Error
-
of a technical kind.

Ouch. Something seems to have gone wrong here. But don't worry, lights will be flashing at 2degrees HQ to tell us know something didn't work quite right for you.
Try going back and have another go at what you were trying to do,or wait until a bit later on. We'll get it fixed as soon as we can for you.

Also how do you port an vodafone number to a new prepay 2 degrees sim? There doesn't seem to be any information the 2 degrees website on how to do this. Guessing I would have to ring them one I have got the new 2 degrees card.

Worked for me OK.

http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/why-2degrees/bring-your-number

You can keep your current phone number when you join 2degrees, even the 021 or 027 bit.

All you have to do is grab a SIM and set yourself up on either Prepay or Pay Monthly. Log in to Your 2degrees and answer a few simple questions about your current number and then we’ll sort out the rest.  Its free, and normally only takes a few hours for us to get you up and running.
If you’re a Business customer your Business Account Manager will set you up.  Just give them all the numbers you’re bringing to 2degrees and they’ll get you connected quickly so you won’t miss a call.
Standard porting terms apply. Multiple ports not accepted. One credit payable per account

Thanks, it still isn't working for me. If I go to the shop, and click on prepay sim only, it now displays a page to say

Uh Oh, we don't have any phones that match your search.

I will probably just go to the store to get one, as it doesn't look like they sell prepay sims through the website anymore.

Thanks for that link, it isn't actually in the FAQ section, I wouldn't have thought to go to the about us section. It should really be in the FAQs

Opera.

Just tried it in Firefox, and it works, so they mustn't have tested it in opera.

farcus: lots of websites don't work correctly in opera.

Not really, some may not display 100%, but I don't have trouble with other websites, including all bank sites I use. This is one of the rare times I have had this sort of problem with a website.
