Hi,
Bought a 3G21WTNZ (the documentation also calls it a 3G21WZ) 3G Wifi router last year from Telecom.
By the way - its a Netcomm product anyway.
We have been using it in Dunedin and casual data is $50 a GB.
I am aware that 2degrees mobile data is live/nearly live in Dunedin and $20 a GB is a much better deal!
Obviously a 2 degrees sim is required - thats a given.
I have had a bit of a look through the manual that came with it and the only page I can see much that refers to Telecom is on the Setup page which just shows a profile called Telecom and about the only setting that this profile has seems to be a range of frequencies:
All bands/automatic
3G-850 only
3G-2100 only
3G-850-/2G-900/1800
3G-All 2G-All
So 2 degrees uses UMTS 2100? - so maybe ok?
Then this on the Introduction page:
Worldwide coverage through Tri-band HSUPA/HSDPA/UMTS (850 / 1900 / 2100 Mhz), quad-band EDGE/GSM (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900Mhz)
Then I found this in the 3G Network section of the manual:
System Mode WCDMA/Europe CDMA 2000 / America
WCDMA band The 3G radio frequency band which supports tri-band UTMS/HSDPA/HSUPA frequencies (850/1900/2100 MHz), IMT2000 is 2100 MHz, WCDMA800 is 850 MHz,
WCDMA1900 is 1900 MHz.
Any chance anyone has popped a 2degrees sim in one of these and it just worked?
Any thoughts/advice?
