Snackos: For what?

They allegedly sent someone to baycorp, but it was allegedly an admin error. They appear to have cleared it up in the end.ISPs being mentioned in a TV program seems to help these TV programs rate well.

They only cleared it up after target got involved .. they were battling with the dude for like 2 years saying they were right and he was wrong

PottsyNZ: Yeah same here, what happened to $99?

$113 sounds almost like $99 + GST... ?

Except in NZ prices are GST Inc unless otherwise stated..

Is there any case law / actual law that states this?
This is an argument I've had with Orcon for the past 12 months.

Because I can't remember actual figures I'll use today's to demonstrate my point

After seeing advertising stating $75 a month for 30GB
I signed up
First bill came $86.25

No where during my sign up period or in the afterglow was I aware this price didn't include GST.

The reason I wasn't aware of this little chestnut is it wasn't advertised.
15 months later
Today in fact, I have run through the sign up process for the $99 200GB deal (obviously I didn't submit the contract)

during this process no where does it mention GST either.

Am I right in assuming that any GST incurred on my account for the past 15 months over and above the price of the advertised deal should be refunded?

I am happy to make a new Topic if required but as the conversation was leaning in this direction already?

I also read the general terms and conditions on the website, no where does it mention an addition of GST once your signed up.

Any help from anyone will be greatly appreciated.
Who is the authority on these things. Commerce commission?

Hi team,

Before we jump the gun here, I can confirm that the prices advertised on our website for all residential plans is inclusive of GST. If we were charging GST on top of the advertised price we'd be making that very clear.

For clarification, the base Genius plan advertised on our site for $75.00 includes GST.

Cheers,

Cam

Thanks for the clarification.
I have requested Email and hard copies of accounts for the 15 months I incurred GST Over and above the cost advertised. It's a shame I can't also claim back the hours on the phone spent trying to resolve these issues with your guatamalan helpdesk.

Who is the best person in Orcon to send a summary of accounts to be refunded?

Are you certain it's GST you've been charged extra for? Flick me a PM with your username and I'll look into it for you.

We don't have a Contact Centre in Guatemala, however our technical Helpdesk is located in Auckland and our account enquiry centre is located in the Philippines.

Once my hard copy invoices have arrived I'll be more than happy to share that information with you
but as I've just discovered all my billing information for the past 15 months has mysteriously disappeared from your servers.

All copies of invoices etc gone..

Funny how things like this work isn't it.

I was sent 15 x my final bill of 15 dollars, which might I add minus the 10 dollar genius modem fee leaves me with $5 for a day of use AFTER the disconnection date.

So I have spoken to someone there who assures me I will receive my entire billing history in the mail, hard copy.

We shall wait and see.

Orcon's administration seems to be a continuing problem! I signed up on genius for 18 months to avoid router rental charges. First bill came with a rental charge and a charge for the returned home hub!!!! Called and explained the situation, they said I was only on a 12 month contract but they would change that and was assured that I would be credited on my next bill. Next bill has arrived with NO credit and still a charge for the home hub despite NZ post sending me confirmation of delivery on the 25th of May!

It may only be a matter of $15 but every time I need to do something with Orcon it gets screwed up on their end (my previous sign up I had connection made to my address but received no router, after calling found they had delivered it to another address but had the nerve to charge me rental for 2 routers once I finally received 1!). It seems like they deliberately over charge time and time again making money off the fact that it is so much hassle to deal with them!!

Don't hold your breath. I left Orcon 2 months ago and I'm still getting bills from them for services that haven't provided since 1 May. The callcentre is next to useless during working hours and only slightly better after 6pm

I once got billed for not returning a router they never asked me to return.  Just BAM, one bill had a $300 charge added.  I swear, one hand does not talk to the other at the Orcon HQ.

Well I ditched my Orcon because they were pathetic - went with Compass Mammoth and what a Joke.
They were suppose to connect our internet last week Monday. I still have no connection and when you call their customer service you can only leave a voice message, which they seem to be in no hurry to respond.

bameron:
trakman: Yo, I was psyched to join Orcon's new Genius plan.
But I called this morning and can't get it at my place, so I'm forced to sign up to a horrifically priced plan (by comparison):

non-Genius plan: 55GB for $140 vs: Genius plan: 200GB for $99

Oh Jeez. it's 2007 again!

why do non-Genius plans not cost the same or slightly similar?
50% more dollars for a quarter of the data

how long will it take for the Airdale St exchange to be genius-ready? :(

We'll be reviewing the pricing on our standard, non-Genius plans next however there is currently no ETA.

So any news yet for those of us Loyal Orcon customers still waiting to hear if our DATA packs will increase
