So I have just been told that changing plans will have to wait until the end of your current billing cycle because Snap are changing systems to 2 degrees and this will impact anyone cutting across.

So despite the confirmation I got that I have moved & despite the fact I have changed mid cycle previously they cannot change my plan or phone service. Makes no difference if you are on Open term (which I am) either.

So I am looking at a cutover date of August 28th. Seriously f*cking unimpressed and this reminds me of all the reasons I left 2 Degrees for mobile, inflexible & more effort that it was worth.

Time to look for a new ISP I think.

Connecting to UFB? Go with Bigpipe and use this link for free credit!

I'm currently on an old Snap 100gb plan UFB . Been pushing that - so figured, Move to the base 30/10 Unlimited. Went through online to change, but stopped when I saw there was a $15 extra for the VOIP line. Is that right? $15 extra for something I'm not paying for now, but is included in the old plan?

I think I saw a few others mentioning that - but unsure if there was a definite answer.
Anyone else?

That's very disappointing. As much as I'd love to upgrade - $15 extra for a phone line that doesn't really get used doesn't sit well.

Currently paying $119 for VDSL unlimited and VoIP. I've convinced the wife we don't need the phone line, so I just need the $89 unlimited plan. I'll be getting an upgrade from the 7390 to 7490 if I go with a 12 month contract.

Looks like a win in my situation, anything I should be aware of?

You could get the same deal here on open term VDSL2 unlimited for $69 per month but supply your own modem. I intend to try them out in two months time when my existing contract ends.

Did you get your 7390 from Snap?
If you've had it less than 5 years apparently you're not eligible for an upgrade to the 7490 (even if you sign up for the 12 month term), and you can't just buy a 7490 off them for $149... you'd have to SWAP your 7390 for a 7490 (plus pay them $200)... I discovered this when I went to switch last week...

I'm just going to wait and see what happens as far as the pricing for a few months. I'm out of contract at home and not really keen to go back to a fritz as my vdsl router since the netcomm seems to have been much more stable for me. Perhaps the new fritz is better but change is effort.

Chorus have totally screwed up the time frame for the install at my sisters place so who knows if that will even be in contract by the time the install happens. I was keen just to pay the break fee and go with bigpipe but even tho it works out better $ wise there was opposition to doing that. The new pricing looks like it makes staying a slightly better deal than when I ran the numbers and fewer months of contract by the time it gets installed too.

Check your plan changes for the new 2 degrees plans people.

I noticed a some odd charges for my new plan relating to my landline which I cancelled as part of my move. The request to not keep my phone number never made it through via the change plan form from the looks of things so they were ready to bill me for the next month for the phone.

This has now been sorted (they say) and they are cancelling the phone service straight away, however they cannot cut me over to the new broadband package!

All these constraints because of a billing system #joy

Just an update on my situation, RalphFromSnap was very helpful and came to an agreement for me to get a new 7490 to replace my 7390.

I can't go into specifics, but there was a cost for me to do this but I am happy of the outcome. Thanks!

So if you paid for your 7390 (I had to pay an extra charge to go to this model), and decide to be loyal, stay with them, and go on contract they will treat you worse than a new customer? They must have been taking lessons from Sky

In my case, I was only 1 year through a 2 year contract. So it was a bit unfair to expect a new 7490 for free. But I had a chat with RalphFromSnap and came to an arrangement which was fair.

State your case, see what they can do for you.
