Orcon has been amazing this is a very sad day. I tried Voyager in the past but its just not a great connection on the enable network. I really don't want to deal with 2degrees after the mobile call quality issue and failure to address this (21 page thread I started).

Any ideas on where I could move to? Need static IP and gig connection.

@shrub please start a new thread if there isn't already an existing one answering your question. This not the place to discuss this.

Just wondering how Seeby Woodhouse feels about the demise of the Orcon brand he founded.

A consolation of the brands was always on the cards.

I wonder if they will use the 2D or Vocus infrastructure? As 2D is PPPoE and Vocus is mostly IPoE

I also wonder if they will merger the billing systems for mobile & broadband?

Why keep 2Talk separate?

Different infrastructure? Too difficult to combine it with everything else?

I moved to Orcon fibre in 2012 from Telecom as Telecom weren't providing fibre. Camborne, Porirua, was a very early fibre installation.

Very happy customer so wish 2D/Vocus all the best.

Hi there - it's still early days, but you know that we (the Orcon, Slingshot, Vocus, and 2degrees) crew on here are happy to answer questions and share info with Geekzone, so please ask away and we'll answer what we can.

The plan is to have a single billing and CRM platform for all of 2degrees, and we are already working on it.

As for 2Talk, it's been incredibly successful running its own operation - and that will continue. Jude and her team there will keep doing what they do, so no changes there.

Any other questions, please just ask!

@Woofjeb Nothing has changed in this space, Why do you think all of a sudden something is going to change in regards to carryover data on mobile plans?

Because normally when you have to shift from network your accrued a data doesn't come across. I'm guessing that they are going to move us from spark at some point or what's the point of having a mobile network and having to pay the opposition

@Woofjeb Sorry you really need to provide more information in your post then, You never mentioned anything about moving from Spark (MVNO)

I thought you were talking about the current 2degrees carryover mobile data plans

But yes I follow you now and can understand why you are asking that question :)

Are you going to have a cheaper sub brand as a MVNO for mobile like spark and skinny.
