Hi @ajx - no plans for subbrands I am aware of, but as you know, 2degrees and the Vocus brands have always pushed hard to offer great deals. This will certainly continue. We announced unlimited 5G wireless for (an introductory offer of) $65 a month yesterday.

@woofjeb - as you note, still early days, but we have done a few mergers and migrations over the years, and generally try hard to make sure customers retain the services they signed up for, or get something better.

I don't have any more details to share, but will of course when we can.

According to the website the $65 unlimited 5g internet has been advertised for at least two months.

Will the Lifetime Free e-mail @orcon address I created in early 2005 still be available?

Poor timing on my part, I decided to leave Slingshot due to the rubbish service and signed up with 2 degrees! They’re not answering my messages so I don’t have an answer to my question of which infrastructure I will be on. If slingshot/Vocus then there’s no point moving. Does anyone know?

I’m also annoyed that they’ve made me have a new router when the slingshot one I have is only a few months old and I’ve just received the fritzbox which looks  cheap and nasty TBH, I don’t need 5 new cables, or any filters and imagine the slingshot one will get binned when I return it. Not very sustainable.

Connection date is next week, is it too late to cancel?

@NadjatheVampire The sale only just completed the other day so you will 200% be on 2degrees infrastructure!

Mergers like this take years I was across the VodafoneNZ / Telstraclear Merger and that to even kick off took soooooo long!

Edit: The fritzbox is great

I'd say the FritzBox is a very good router. It does an excellent job even with the high speed plans.

Slingshot run an 'ugly modem' intiative, so you can ask them about that.

The FritzBox! is one of the best consumer routers out there! plus the 2D network is solid.

@quentinreade

(1) Does 2 degrees want to increase the amount of MVNO's using your mobile network. (2) There are about 50,000 slingshot MVNO customers using the spark mobile network will these customers be rapidly moved to the 2 degrees network.

I go back even further John, I remember the Telstra Saturn/Clear merger, that seemed like it was never going to end 😆

What do you guys think about switching to Slingshot now? I'm thinking about moving a friend from Orcon to Slingshot (ik it sounds stupid) because of the router Slingshot provides.
