So it's now nearly 4 months since the new data caps for genius users were announced on here and still not a single word on anything for us none genius users yet ....... Why is it taking so long to make a decision on increasing our data caps to what the genius users are getting . If nothing is forthcoming withing the next 3~4 weeks I'm seriously going to leave Orcon and go back to Telecom I and probably a quite a few other none genius users are getting sick of being looked at as 3rd world internet users when it comes time for plan updates

It's a great way to loose customers Orcon or is that the real plan to get rid of the ones that don't want Genius

Or can't get.  Don't forget those of us who for one reason or another cannot get Genius.

FB Orcon is planning something special. Awesome I thought they are finally delivering the plans they suggested that would make everybody happy.

Alas NO!

I cannot get Genius because of my location.

I use my cap and pay my Bill on time every month.
I don't want a &^%$&* Craft Beer, Or a Tropical holiday to a dictatorship,
I just would like a competitive plan for existing customers non Genius customers
It is cheaper to keep existing clients and their goodwill than attempt to purchase new ones.
It feels like the Marketing team is running a Monopoly reminiscent of the early 2000's

Has anyone asked them directly lately rather than just asking here ? Orcon are under no obligation to visit this site, so maybe they do have an update on the way but noones asked them directly to find out ?

I called Orcon a few weeks ago.  They told me that they are still "in the planning stages" and it will be quite a while.  Their only suggestion was "get Genius".  When told I'm on a business plan their suggestion was "convert to residential and get Genius".

and this was probably their plan all along stall/frustrate the none genius users for long enough to either get them on genius or wait till they buggar off someplace else in which case they don't need to do anything at all

I'm getting 30GB for $70 on non-genius, which seems reasonable to me. If you want a lot of data, the choice is either switch to genius or switch ISPs. Is it such a big deal?

Not a big deal with most ISP's when you are out of contract. And even if you are out of contract, dealing with the Orcon customer service team is a terrible experience (once you get through). Then there's the billing issue after leaving them... Expect to be billed and not be credited until it suits them, they'll hold on to your money until they are ready to credit you.
