This may affect you and your results, by slowing either or both.
The probe checks for traffic before and during tests and either pauses or waits before testing.

Try connecting some, or eventually all, devices to it to see if they are enabled - usually most devices have no problem.

Interesting, I've got mine running on a DMZ at the moment as I've got a bridge between gateway and firewall and the DMZ hangs off the firewall.
I'll try place it inbetween the two tonight and see what happens.

Yes, we have volunteers who have exactly this setup, and it works fine.

Happy Trunet volunteer here :)
Question, what happens when I (or others) go VDSL, as your routers are ADSL aren't they? - Would I have to give up being a tester? as I plan on moving to VDSL in the next week or two...

The truenet boxes are just routers not modems so doesn't mater what type of service your running.

As McGee says. They work with anything Ethernet; wireless, fibre, VDSL, RBI, Cable and ADSL.

We have probes working on all technologies and the software is standard for all, the only request is that you update your profile so I can identify the change. VDSL is good, we need more VDSL probes :-)

Well I am in the process of getting my phone number transferred over to voip (which should be done on the 10th), once that is done I will be bugging snap to get me on VDSL :)

well, all up and running with VDSL and VoIP now :)
I know you said it will not make any difference to speeds etc having the truenet probe plugged in, but I am a little confused at what my switches are telling me..
I have 2 switches connecting to truenet probe which in turn connects to internet..
One switch goes to one lot of computers, the other to the other lot...
with the switches like this, they are showing the connection as a 100M Link active one...
When I plug the switches directly into the Fritzbox, the switches suddenly switch to 1000M Link active.
I bet you are just gonna tell me to ignore my switches right :)

The truenet boxes are only 100mbit, Unless you're using the fritz with NAS features etc I would go Fritz > Truenet > Switch > Switch.

The easiest way to think about the Truenet boxes is to think of them almost as a switch as they pass everything from the WAN straight onto the LAN without any routing etc. ( None that I've found anywho )

Yes I read through the documentation provided on how to set up the Probe, including the wireless.

My modem has DHCP server enabled too. Still no luck.

Sorry, we have a software issue on the new probes, they are all being updated as soon as they are turned on. I gather yours is now working
