Orcon does it again "I will call you back at 5pm to get more information from you so we can get your fibre connection sorted" No call back this the third time they have done this and on the call when i rung them they told me to register through there website for fibre which i did 3 months ago and they had no record of me registering or any previous calls to them.
seriously orcon chimps could run your call centre better they even went into space

I know but hey if orcon cant get there stuff sorted they are going to lose customers and I guarantee i am not the only person who is having fun with them

Orcon have finally got the ball rolling they are now contacting chorus to organise a connection to fibre at my address they said they will try and get ASAP when it suits me I just hope it not to far away and they are also looking into doing something for me as I did miss out on the free broadband offer for 2012 they where offering when I first contacted them

Yeah but this one comes under basic customer service man I work in retail and have worked in a call centre previously if you say you will ca a customer back call them back not ditch them in the gutter. Because at the end of the day customers are the ones that help company's make money. So customer service for any business should always be number 1 no customers equals no business.
I have been offered a free connection with the same pricing and deal as orcon through another provider door knocking. So do I ditch orcon because they have dropped the ball which is what I am considering as I wanted to have five installed by the 13th November as I am going to Auckland and want to access my computer remotely.
As said by others, there is your answer. And by no means do you need fibre for remote desktop. Might be a little laggy on ADSL but still will work pretty well. Or just set up a VPN server and some network folders.

yeah i used to remote desktop my computer from school so i could bypass the schools internet filters and it worked fine!
