Quite possible but roaming on Vodafone could have still been open all that time,

Haven't seen any complaints on their facebook page concerning coverage In Kapiti.

Talk to Steve Biddle he seems to know about the issue

Slightly OT john but I note a vodafone customer is complaining about lack of coverage on the vfone facebook site.

The Kapiti Coast has patchy coverage on all 3 networks in many parts, mostly because of the terrain. The Raumati area is essentually all undulating sand dunes which results in lots of deadspots or low coverage areas for all 3 networks.

Waikanae 2d coverage is terrible because they relied on sites on Forest Heights and the township only. Coverage around the township itself is OK and Forest Heights will deliver OK outdoor coverage to high parts of Waikanae beach, but indoor coverage in many parts is a dead loss. Vodafone and Telecom both have sites at Waikanae Beach and Vodafone also have a site in the Ngarara Rd TV transmitter.

The biggest Vodafone deadspot on the Kapiti Coast is all of Paekakariki - the site above the town is only 2 sector and doesn't any inbuilding coverage to the town which is 200m directly below it. Why they have never built an infill site in the township remains a mystery to me.

Early 2000 when I worked in the call centre I remember very clearly a customer complained of no mobile coverage out in the middle of a national park in a major gully, Another customer complained to me about poor coverage out West Auckland Whenuapai, When a certain carrier started building a new site a few months later to improve coverage in Whenuapai they called back and by fluke they got me again. I had noted the account clearly that they were not happy with the mobile coverage and he wanted something done about it, I read those notes back to the customer.

They used the words " You are not building that in my neighborhood over my dead body "

With mobile coverage it's very difficult to please everyone but you have a good Christmas

It's amazing what you read on facebook concerning cellphone coverage. And no I was not the person who made the posting on there.

Our Facebook team can deal with it, We have some major upgrades going on right now so at times while hardware is upgraded coverage will be impacted at times, We even have a notice on the VFNZ site about the planned work
