Many Bothans died to bring us this information.


Ill post some stats from our work Orcon connections tomorrow.... ;)



Are they UFB though? No point posting p2p fibre as those speeds have always been fine.

My connection with Orcon started off on the slower side last year (August) but has been running fine since mid December.



I'd say they are still tweaking things behind the scenes. I've been doing a speed test every few days since I had fiber installed and you can see on the timeline where improvements have been made:

I would agree, recently my UFB Business 100/50 on Orcon has started acting much closer to what I would reasonably expect.

My 30/10 speed to overseas sites has improved a lot since mid December and I am happy with my UFB speeds now.

Downloading time has improved noticeably as a result.

My first link to SF was very slow (1.2 dn/5.4 up) but I did it again with MUCH better results.

There was a talk at last weeks NZNOG about this speed problem and the reason why it happened and how they fixed it.

It is all to do with burst and the bandwidth delay product (Geek Stuff I know)

Presuming English is not the first language and this person comes from Korea, Hong Kong or Japan this 27mbit may appear slow for this person as in their home country fiber is standard.

If not then trolling.....

Probably to be expected on an unlimited plan.... Try switching to a limit based plan.

Thats a little disappointing though - For residential they only seem to have a 30GB, 60GB, and then the unlimited plan. I use about 250GB a month at the moment, and can't really see myself using less than that on fibre.

Especially since at fibre speeds, you'd probably download more because of the faster speeds..
