So it looks as if the router was at fault. New router and much better coverage!
It's a bit disappointing to find that I'm being charged $10 to have a new modem sent out (only found this out after a 30 minute wait to query when this months invoice arrived). I'm not really concerned about the money, but Orcon, if you're going to charge a handling fee to replace YOUR faulty modem, at least tell me at the time!
