bruizerbg: ... when I do a Speedtest with the Orcon site I am only seeing 28mbps download (but I am seeing close to 10mbps upload).
Sideface
Jase2985: Fireengine: my sync speed is 64.3/10.2 and i get 60/9.8 on speed tests through out auckland
60% of the sync speed is saying something is wrong there
Regards FireEngine
bruizerbg: Thanks FireEngine - therefore the only way that it might improve is if the DLM decides it will change my profile from 8a to 17a - yes? Over which I have no control...

try downloading a large file and see what the download speed says
http://www.nvidia.com/content/DriverDownload-March2009/confirmation.php?url=/Windows/332.21/332.21-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-english-whql.exe&lang=us&type=GeForce
thats not a bad one to start with (doesnt matter what the file is just matters if it can max your connection) as it should max out a 40meg connection and its large enough to give the connection a chance to see what it can do
most browsers should be able to have you a round speed per second guide in the download window

Did this download and got an average around 1380kbps in Google Chrome. How do I relate this to the speeds we are talking about?

Sounddude: This issue has nothing to do with VDSL or DLM. For some reason Bruiser has been provisioned incorrectly on our BNG equipment and has been placed on a ADSL Profile.
We will resolve this first thing in the morning. He should easily get his line speed from local sites.
TimA: I am sure Orcon have not had VDSL for more than 10 days to start with.
