hio77: when 5ms is normal, going up to 25~35ms at peak time, i see as completely unacceptable ...

It's all in the mind you know ...
I would be delighted to have such good ping times (I have an excellent 130/10Mbps cable connection).

RalphFromSnap: Hi Troy,

We have investigated and don't think its our network causing this, its possible that it might be local congestion on the ISAM backhaul. We have logged a fault with Chorus and will keep you up to date!

Thanks,
TheRalph

awesome, ill take by naming me the ticket was noted too :)

progress is the main thing i like to hear! i expect it wont be a very fast fix, but long as things are getting looked into, not alot to do but wait right?!

given the likely hood that others are also seeing it, i suspected it wasnt my ISAM in particular however...

its not only the increase, but also the fact that its heavily jittery which isnt great by any respects for real time activity.

being 130/10, ild say your on cable. that is a technology that i personally have not played with, nor dealt with enough to proclaim i know the latency profiles of it. i keep a close eye on my line, to be sure i keep that low latency profile..

ild happily take a slight in latency increase over jitter. but as it stands, between about 8 and 11, gaming is off the books for me :/

might be jumping a little soon, but while its a litte jittery still, 10000% better today!

the downtime spike, im not sure what caused that, it was 4 sets of 5 pings failing outright. graph is slightly averaged (5 min intervals to kill little spikes of jitter so the peak time is a bit more obvious.)

few spikes outside of peak, are downloads. so ignore them.
