Spong: Dropped into my local branch at Wairau Park today and got my free data SIM after handing over a copy of the email I received.

When I got back home, I found that there was no data or credit loaded of any kind. I called 2Degrees and was told it takes 24-48 hours for the new SIM to be linked to my existing account. Here's hoping it does.

It's advertised as 200MB per month for life as long as you remain an account customer, so I doubt you'd need to top up. I was also told it can be linked as a shared data SIM.

The SIM needs to be allocated to your Pay Monthly which may take 2-3 working days to set up.
There's no need to top-up unless you want to make calls/text etc and it's active as long as your have your linked Pay Monthly account active.
Yes it can be used as a Shared Data SIM. :)

Please PM us your details, including your main # and the number of the 200MB SIM if you're still having issues.

Cheers

No need, these SIMs are free for all Pay Monthly customers. Just pop into a 2degrees store and they'll give you one. ;0)

Got mine from a store today after migrating to pay monthly yesterday.

Got a text to my main number within an hour "Your 200MB data SIM is now set up and ready to use. We'll automatically top this SIM up every month on the 1st of each month. Enjoy!"

I haven't seen any promo online but instore screens were pushing it.

Offer ends June 30.

Thanks 2degrees, nice touch!

I tried to get mine in Tauranga today, but was told that the 10,000 SIM's for this had already gone - he said he had one rejected 4 days ago due to the allocation being exhausted then - Given the post above, makes me wonder were the different stores/regions rationed?

Hi, sorry if you didn't get your hands on one. This isn't an issue we've come across and all Pay Monthly customers will be eligible.  I'll raise it with the Retail team.  In the meantime please PM your name, number (plus 4 digit PIN for authentication) and we can get one out to you.

Cheers

Sorry, this offer is only for Pay Monthly (consumer) customers atm.  You can always get a Prepay SIM and use Business Shared Data.  But I'll put it to the guys upstairs.  :(
