I need some more information about the new Netcomm modems (white)
Have installed it and it is working as modem however I am confused about the VOIP stuff. My previous black genius allowed me to have several wireless handsets around house that were paired to the genius modem allowing one to pick up a call from any handset. I don't see that option available for the new Netcomm modem. Has that feature been removed or if it is still available how do I set the handsets up to pair with Netcomm

The new Netcomm modem does not include a DECT base station, so you'll need to attach a standard analog phone set (which could be a DECT base station). Hope that clarifies.

That is bloody annoying. Why provide a new system that is inferior to the old system. I have gone from a system that allowed up to six handsets plus the handset on the Genius to one that only has one handset

Did one of your additional handsets plug into the side of the Black Genius? If so, connect that handset to the Genius White Phone Port 1 and you should be good.

Most DECT base stations support multiple handsets, so once you add one then you can do the same. It's just not built in as it was with the Genius Black.

Why don't you simply keep the Black? All modems are a compromise of features, if it is working and you value the built-in DECT then simply carry on using it....

Umm a "base station" and charging bases are different animals, you can plug a Base Station into a phone line, a handset in a charging base requires a base station or a DECT-capable router like the GeniusFull to pair to to provide the phone line function. OP pairs his handsets with the GeniusFull unit. (obviously he has charging bases for the handsets).

I have the Genius full which has DECT built on. I purchased the Panasonic three pack DECT handset which has three handsets and three charging bases for hand set to stand on. This gives me for handsets including the genius handset. Panasonic three pack costs $90 which is a great bargain
