Yesterday was the first big glitch in MyRepublic's uptime for us. We joined 2 months ago.

So, the internet connection died at 9:25am, and didn't get fixed until 5:13pm. Nearly 8 HOURS!

That is the longest outage I have experienced in 20.5 years of using the internet.

Crossing fingers that I can make it through the next 22 months of my contract.

The problem affected users from Nelson to Wanganui. They say it was a problem with their Cisco ASR-9000(s).

Just guessing here, that it might have taken a LONG time to find an available technician to investigate the problem, and who knows how much travel could have been required to get on-site.

Switched over to MR a few weeks back and have been very happy with them.

Wanted a better upload than 20Mbps and their 100/50 was the best value and came with 6 months at 50%. Static IP one off cost, not monthly.

Migration went as planned on schedule.

Their support was also good when I wanted to change some phone settings and they went out of their way when they didn't have to. No wait time and the techs were techs that could answer my questions (as opposed to call center staff reading scripts and faq's).

Connection speeds good or the same as 2degrees and better that what TrueNet were reporting for MR.

So yes, at this stage I would recommend them.
