That one is out of stock and i couldn't see it at the local jaycar. Will grab the other one and have a go.

they can be a bit fiddly (slip either side of the wire) but will do the job if you pay attention

OP, can you send me your s/s account number?  I'm half wondering at this point if you have some other fault, or a naked service.  Cheers.

Not sure if it is an account problem, i just had another play and moved the wires down to the next connectors and now i have intermittent dial tone, ADSL seems to be connected at full speed.

When i pick the phone up i either get noise, dial tone or just dead silence. Dial tone will work for a while and then just disappear.

I can call out when i have the dial tone.

Wonder if the jackpoint itself is faulty?

Could be or you've not punched the wires down correctly.  I think at this stage it's worth getting someone in to have a look.

I'm ready to get someone else to have a look, are you able to look at the account for me, maybe get my line checked?

There are no timeslots available for callback on the slingshot site and I don't really want to use my mobile on hold for ages if possible.

Ok, just to finish the thread. Problem was out on the street, Slingshot/Chorus had it sorted pretty quick after i lodged the fault.
