It's possible for a device to be sending malformed packets (for whatever reason) that can cause another device to crash when they receive something unexpected.

A pretty bad analogy would be a faulty washing machine (the orbi) causing a circuit breaker to trip on the switchboard (Orcon router). A fault in one place has an effect somewhere else.

Not saying that is definitely your problem, but it's a pretty reasonable troubleshooting step to try. You won't know unless you try it.

I've got a TCL Android TV that periodically will do exactly that, on certain firmware revisions.

Took me a solid 30 minutes of confusion before I picked the TV was the problem.

When you have an apparent Orcon router fault, what happens when you turn off the Orbi?

Can a computer connected to the Orcon router Lan give you access (Internet or web router management)?

You might have to wait a minute for DHCP to recover IPs.

I dont turn off the Orbi - just the Orcon device. When the problem happens next time I will unplug the Orbi and see whether the Orcon device coms back to life.

Turn off the Sam device too - as well a the Orbi.... The Sam may have picked up confused IPs...
