@lordmuck:

Our SSL cert is fine and the issue seems only to be with IPV6 if you disable IPV6 and flush the resolver cache this issue disappears...

The odd thing is the issue does not occur with spark?

Spark does not have IPv6 so you won't try to access the IPv6 address ever.

The SSL may be correct but your provider is binding the IPv6 address to another domain and SSL cert, despite the ilibrary.co.nz DNS AAAA.

If your domain is not supposed to support IPv6, remove the AAAA records from DNS. If it is supposed to support IPv6, then get your hosting provided to fix the site binding.

Got to love ipv6 lol

I have no way of changing the AAAA record i seem to have inherited a bit of a dog here. we are with siteground so i will contact then and see if they can resolve it.

..

@lordmuck, don't you have control over your DNS?

The Zone Editor is all you will need to change/remove the AAAA record.

Once removed, use https://www.whatsmydns.net/ to check if it worked.

I don't at all call that an acceptable or professional attitude to have.

I'd never disable IPv6 just to access a website. It either works, or it doesn't. Most do indeed work. There are other ramifications to having broken records on a website and one of those is Google who do crawling over IPv6 as well as IPv4.

You're best to contact whoever to get the AAAA records removed from this domain. There are many ISP's that have IPv6 these days so your site is losing the audience of those people.

To be honest, I'm a little disappointed with this thread, I would have preferred it was something like this - Hey we are having issue with customers connecting to xx website via IPv6, This is the testing we have done to validate it's their issue, I've escalated via the appropriate channels, is there someone here who can help?

As always, happy to help where we can, we are happy for this domain to be moved to us and provide the easy ability for DNS records to be updated/changed etc.

Nick
