Another thing - are you testing to the vocus speedtest servers by chance @joshwa16 ? If so try some other non vocus servers (stuff fibre in akl for example). There seems to be something funny going on with the vocus speedtest servers for some customers.

I did try different servers yes, someone also mentioned to try something further away in Wellington. Not much different no matter the test server on the list. At this point I've gone through all the servers on speedtest.net and am currently on the line with Orcon to see if there's further testing that can be done from their end.

I do feel I've exhausted any options on my end unless someone else has something I can try?

I've just been through some fairly extensive testing with voyager - who subsequently found the problem was with their equipment rather than mine.

One of the tests they asked me to do, was connect my computer directly to the ONT using an ethernet cable --- then, I configured a PPP connection with vlan set on the network adapter (if you need to set vlan id for vocus, and use windows 10, you need to google how to do this because intel removed the vlan setting from the adapter config window).

It actually worked ok, and I was connected to the internet, directly to the ONT . My speedtests were still slow, meaning the source of the issue was becoming more likely to be outside of my house).

You could try that, it eliminates another variable, but make sure your device has no background tasks using the internet when running the speedtests. Also , your test device should be powerful enough to run Gb speedtests, both the adapter and the cpu/mobo.

In the end, I found out that voyager already knew their local link was near capacity and were in process of upgrading it -- should have been done earlier this year but covid messed with their timeline. Front-end staff did not know about the planned network upgrade, which did not help either. Although, I get that the customer is probably responsible for nearly all slow internet issues, specially on ufb.

@joshwa16 Please refer back to my other post and use the Speedtest app. I seriously don't think there is anything wrong with your connection and the Cambium router is more than capable of handling it.
