@UncleFungus And what router are you using?

Local connectivity doesn't matter - I could max out my Gigabit Ethernet but would only get ~60-180Mbit elsewhere. Things that do matter are hardware and software.

It's the Slingshot supplied NF18ACV router.

I'll try that TCP Optimizer after lunch and post the results.

Results after running TCP Optimizer and restarting

https://www.speedtest.net/result/10779262092

It doesn't appear to have changed anything

Edit:  Results from LUbuntu20.10 :

https://www.speedtest.net/result/10779328992

That rules Windows out.  Nothing much is left at my end other than the router.

Update:  I've configured my old Spark HG659B to work on Slingshot and I still get the same speed results:

What else is left at my end?

@UncleFungus is there actually a problem you’re noticing outside of Speedtest or is the problem solely with Speedtest? This is not an indication there is actually a problem with your connection.

Actually did get an email today saying that Orcon have recognised that there is an issue with Enable

For what it's worth I actually get these degraded speeds everywhere not just speed test but steam, battle net, my own VPS in aussie and square Enix.

I am not that blind so I do realise that speed test isn't everything and tcp overhead is a thing but it's obvious that it's not a user issue it's an isp or LFC issue according to the email I've got today.

I have replied with a link to this thread but I was honestly hoping that a vocus employee would have caught this thread sooner but I guess not.

I also understand that this isn't official support but it's a sting when staff from Voda or spark or voyager dedicate a lot of time here.

Rant over hoping for a resolution soon.

I noticed my download speed wasn't quite what it used to be.   I don't download much, so it has taken me a while to take action on this - the first few times I just assumed it was my family streaming etc.   However it never got better and the more I looked in to it, the more it looks like there is a fault somewhere.

So do you get a refund or partial credit for 2 months of degraded service?

Well in addition to the degraded service and extremely poor customer service(pro tip don't shout over people trying to help you and explain their issue). I have gotten my contract broken so I am free to leave whenever. However since there are no offers that match my price that I am paying for I don't think I'll leave just yet.
