The internet has been down for me in the hill suburbs from the same time. Still on hold with support to find out what’s happening.

It does annoy me they don't update the status page.

"There are no known issues on the 2degrees Broadband"

It would save a lot of unnecessary inbound calls!

@schmoogol Stop wasting staff time and hang up! You know the internet is down and impacting many others in the same location

The only thing front line staff will say is  ' Known outage techs are looking into it '

@event2 Are you sure it is a @ChorusNZ issue / outage?

No idea, thought it was a good place to check as well.

At time of posting (9.43 - over an hour after the outage started) it was showing no known issues.

Glad it's showing something now.

@event2 The best place to start is always the carriers ' Status page ' and give the carrier sometime to update the page

The tech staff are more worried about fixing the issue ASAP before requesting a website update of an issue (trust me I know)

The worse thing is a service owner asking for ' How long ' when you are looking into a major outage you just want to tell them to rack off

A couple of years ago we had an outage at work, and after about the fifth call from a manager asking "how long" I pretty much exploded. "Never! People keep ringing me every 10 minutes and knocking me out of the zone, so it's never going to get fixed."

The calls actually stopped after that.
