No 5G for 2degrees in this update either.
Service provider version 2degrees 50.0.

I’m not sure when this changed but enabling VoLTE no longer gives the warning it used to. I can’t recall if this was fixed in an earlier update but it still done that not long ago.

No 5G in Auckland CBD on 2degrees when I visited on Saturday all over the CBD even near sites I can see that has 5G antennas. Interesting that they've chosen Wellington as the launch. Did manage to get on Spark's 5G network but very few sites -- only three that I could find (Rabobank Building, Mayoral Drive Exchange and I suspect Spark HQ). Was surprised to see many major Spark sites in CBD still yet to be upgraded -- i.e. no 5G panels. However there is a good number of Spark sites all over Auckland with 5G antennas and even RSM licences but not been switched on yet. So far Vodafone seems to be much, much further on in their roll-out just like the early days of 4G and 3G. 2degrees if they can switch Auckland on could do better than Spark if they are able to bring sites online quicker than Spark.

Spong:

Vodafone called one of my home based clients in Takapuna, and convinced them to shift from their existing VF Fibre to Fixed VF Wireless 5G. They were sent the Huawei modem, had the new service enabled, and were told to disconnect their old gear,  and only then they contacted me. They had no idea what they were signing up to and were told "it's the latest thing, and everyone in the street are getting this". I believe they've managed to back out after talking to me. I wasn't impressed.

My father in law in Auckland had the same thing happen

@KiwiSurfer 5G is live in Auckland you may not be getting 5G cause of the handset you are using. I am waiting on Samsung to push out the latest update for my S21+ that will enable 5G for my 2degrees SIM

@Linux just something to note not all those sites will be activated for 5G yet, or even have 5G gear on them. It just means they’ve got the RSM license for those sites.

Actual 5G coverage in the Wellington CBD is tiny going by their maps and only appears a couple of sites actually have it turned on.

Do you have a link confirming this information? If not then assume it's not for public distribution or haven't even actually happened.

I would be wary of posting anything without a source.
