tonyhughes: I quite like the text coming through straight away, as it made the whole process very fast and easy. Well done 2d.

Ditto.

@OP: You're putting your phone number on a form. Don't want to worry? Don't type your personal information on a web form. What more consent do you want?

I signed up this morning for my free sim card too. However no text came through at all, so I simply rang the 0800 number and they signed me up over the phone. Very easy.

Behodar: Hmm, I just tried to sign up but had no success. I got the text but the site didn't accept the code that they sent me. I closed the page and tried it all again, and didn't get a text the second time.

When I tried the code came with an extra "@" at the end. I entered without that and it worked.

Aha! Thanks for that, it worked without the @ :)

By way of update: To allow for longer text message delivery times we?ve extended the validity period of the text code. So if you were having issues with delayed text codes not working, try giving it another whirl now.

Also, if you received a text code with an @ on it we'd love to hear from you (please can you direct message us). Our text message system can't see any @ signs being sent, so we'd like to look into it more.

Can I just double-check something... this form isn't giving to consent to port the number to 2degrees right... suspicious wife is getting all nervous of me filling in this form!

nope, as reported earlier in the thread. This will NOT port your number over.

Indeed, it's no more or less than it says it is. Fill in the form, and we'll send you a free SIM when we launch. Simple as that.

2degrees: Hey richms - sorry if you had any difficulty with the form regarding putting in PO Box details. Any probs our uber friendly team would love sort out your problems and set you up on Chinwag - just give them a call on 0800 022 022.

Cheers!
2degrees.

Hi 2degrees.

I have been told twice by the team (once before reading your message, and just now after reading your message), that I cannot have the SIM card sent to a PO Box.

What gives? :/

What gives is that the form is a NZ Post PAF (postal address file) which has all of the residential addresses in NZ - but unfortunately none of the PO Box addresses.
Give our team a call on 0800 022 022 and they'll make sure that a Chinwag SIM is sent to your PO Box address.

cheers!
2degrees

Hi there, and thanks for the (prompt) reply.

The CSR took my details and stepped up the enquiry. A (very) short time later I was phoned back with an apology and this was all sorted out.

Have to say that if I'm treated half as well as an actual customer then I'll be most impressed and look forward to checking out your pricing plans in August.

Perhaps the disappointing XT pricing was meant to be all along because my destined mobile provider is related to me by 2 degrees of separation?
