The OP did what any other normal user would have done, he did mention in a later post that Orocn were sorting it out. If some users dont read all the posts in a thread then they will (and have in this case) missed vital information.

i think i know why you got charged. Skateboarding is legal on the road as long as you keep to the left as reasonably possible. You do not even need to wear a helmet.
And mate, you should be calling the police because people are doing something that could harm someone "else", not harm yourself.ie if you run over a skateboarder you will not get hurt so you don't want to punish someone who is not even hurting anyone but his or herself.

By the sounds of your post, you are still in your teens?.

The OP did what myself and any other good motorists would have done. It is called preventing an accident, I am sure if there were Police in the area they would have gone and gave the skateboarders a safety warning.

Read the whole post -______- It wasn't a criminal charge. And it can endanger someone else too. If I swerved to avoid hitting him or something, I might have hit something else.  Thats the first time I've seen someone skateboard in the road like that before, so if its safe and the police have no need to get involved, then why doesnt every skateboarder do it?

Thank you. Why should some kid get killed if its preventable? I know he was dumb for doing it in the first place but no one should get killed if its preventable. If he did get hit and I didnt call the cops then I'd have that guilt knowing I could have prevented it, even if the cops just give him a warning.

kiwitrc: We need a gloves off section in GZ, a place where mods fear to tread. Somewhere where you can go and hurl abuse with immunity, a Troll Hole in fact.

I wanted to create new sub forum for this but mods didn't let me...

well if you did make one it would still have to be "policed" as such incase people went too far then it would kind of defeat the point of it really

Your post said one of the skateboarders nearly got hit by a car pulling out of a giveway, so why didn't you report the car who nearly hit the skateboarder instead of the other way around?

This is wildly off-topic now.

Keep this discussion to billing / 111 / orcon, or I will happily lock the thread.

Either the CDR feed from Vodafone to Orcon is incorrect, or the Orcon billing system has rated the call incorrectly. Either way the Orcon billing team need to investigate for a fix and provide you with a credit.

What a joy it was designing the rating engine for those CDRs..

I'll wait till monday and see if its gone yet, the charge is still on my account, I called them when I get home at like 3.30ish, maybe earlier so I don't want to say anything bad about them just yet since it is the weekend now. Do they operate on the weekends? (billing dept. I mean, I know support is open)

Because the road is meant for cars, not people.

maverick: perhaps that would have been good to add to the original post don't you think, would have let every body know right from the start Orcon were aware of it and would sort it out

Yep..

Read all the posts first, you would see my reply to that guy. I had already said I called Orcon and you cant edit posts after a certain time. Would you like me to from now on say I've already contacted them even though I havn't and make up what I think they might say?

Because the road is meant for cars, not people.

And motorbikes, and bicycles, and droving animals, and skateboards, and scooters, and...

In fact, you'll find pedestrians are also road users.
