150GB in a day seems a bit extreme .. must be a bloody good connection!

There are several ISP's that are NZ owned and have call centers based in NZ so no real need to stay with Orcon and their continuing pass the blame game. If I were you, I'd get on the phone first thing in the morning and change to a more compentant ISP

Emp, lets get back to your original issue. It's been four days now since your first post, give us an update on freitasm's advice to leave your computer turned off for a day, and then checking your usage to see if there was any activity.

Hi all,
A brief update from our end.
Clearly we had problems with our usage meter last Friday. The team here is working out who was affected, and we'll not charge them for any usage that we can't verify.
I'll get more details to you when I have them.
Cheers, Quentin

where can i read about user rights?

You come here with a stupid comment in response to mine and you don't know where to read about user rights, yet you tell me how it is.

Sun shines brightly in your woods mate.

I asked a question - not even to you, wanting to increase my knowledge on the subject as its obviously lacking and you come back with a retarded comment like that. No wonder you get no where with your problems.

Yea and what about the rest of the stuff I posted? I let rip at the second CSR, who I feel sorry for because the other guy, like alot of the other ones in there are not capable of passing on messages or doing their job.

As for the other question, my internet has been fine, I have turned wireless on and off, monitored it and yes there has been on issues.

Either A) I was hacked badly WITH MY WIRELESS SECURITY ON, I know all my protocols, channels and my password, I even rang overseas to Cisco helpline in the states and its deff not my fault with the security OR it is how he has said it was over use which I assume is the case and the CSR who said its my fault on Friday, along with people making terrible assumptions is the case.

Also I the whole time I have been with Orcon, I have not been able to even come close to 85gb, I remember when I downloaded 3 games in a day all on a good connection source, the most I managed to get was under 20gb, 18.5gb IIRC, I can go check it 100% if its that stupid.

Regardless of that, I am not paying for this even if I have been hacked by someone on the external, which I highly doubt is the case since our wireless is back on again and monitored with normal usage.

What is the most annoying and you do nothing once again, I dont know my data usage at the moment, I have to guess and not been given a email to follow up on this.

Great going Orcon, I talked to a news reporter today at his office for 45 minutes, showed him these threads, my emails (Which I printed off) and along with the other complaints from others - with the gaming forums too. Try and tell me that we are all wrong and I will love when you try and pull off charging someone if they were hacked two weeks out of Xmas for that usage, great PR for your company mate.

Still sticking to my guns to support local NZ business - call me dense, but atleast I have morals about helping the local economy, something which Orcon does not have or understand it would assume, along with CSR's who do not know their job correctly, why not pay to educate them on the job, make sense huh.

I could go on and on again, its sad to see that nothing is done either, you do nothing too see customers who stay loyal and deal with your garbage service, NOTHING.

Have a Merry Xmas.

I imagine ISPs' folks reading these diatribes and thinking to themselves "gosh, these people, when not complaining about us, complaining about each other. Let's just ignore the noise".

Seriously, if you can't behave, I can only imagine how CSRs are treated. And those are the folks who can click a button and help people - but don't. I wonder why.

So, to all of you. Either calm down, or I lock the thread.

Emp, I quote from your original post: "...noticed that I had used 150+ GB, which is well over my usage and I monitor my usage daily so the excess we do not have to pay for."

My first question is, if you monitor your usage daily how did it get to this stage? Did this figure suddenly appear overnight or something?

In your latest post you've said that you've been told your security was either bypassed or you actually did use more than you realised, and you even acknowledge the latter might be the case, but either way you're not going to pay for it.

So, who should be responsible and who should be paying it then?

Overnight.

Read the other threads.

Them due to malicious act from a outside source. Go ring legal aid, go talk to C.A.B and various 20+ IT gurus, one of which with the irony is apart of what you may call the Directors of Orcon with its partner company.

Can't wait too see what the CSR says tomorrow when I ring up.

With this sort of issue, request to talk to the same CSR each time and make sure they understand what you are getting at etc. That way you dont have to explain yourself over and over again and get frustrated etc.

The notes most CSRs enter into a help system are usually very basic and dont hold the whole story....know this from my life at various ISPs.

Any time I had a caller with a major gripe, I quite happily asked them to ask for me each time they called, its amazing how much easier and faster things got resolved when they knew someone had taken responsibility for investigating the problem, and not just "that team upstairs who do that sort of thing".

I'm only trying to fully understand your situation so I can try and help. I have read every single post in this thread, tried to bring things back to your original issue, but with you posting this I can't be bothered with the hostility you keep displaying towards people who are here to help so I'm unsubscribing from this thread and won't participate further. Good luck.

Have you not read the comments I have made, if you repeat yourself with every CSR every time, they do not read notes, they do not even record the damn things along with people not reading here or previous post/thread as described and then you ask the same thing, what sort of expectations do you have in terms of a reply?

I suggest you either settle down or I'm locking this thread.

We are trying to help you and burning your bridges here is not helpful.

Don't like it?  There's the door.

Some people have helped but some have merely assumed and created further frustration.  As for you, you've just added 0 value by fuelling frustration.  Well done.

Well said, was going to reply, however could not be bothered.

If you cannot read then its your own fault here.

My cap still has not be reduced and I have not been given a email for the "mistake" of extra data added, as quoted by the CSR.

Grand customer service.
