Yep, on their website here:

Cheapest plan is $30 but it's not high speed.

I've been on the Elite plan for a couple of days and hadn't noticed any significant speed increase from when I was on the FS/128kbps plan.

Thanks mate I went for a nosey in visibill to see how to change plans and its all screwed up guess i won't be going thru visibill to change my broadband plan

I don't want to upgrade to what the letter says $35 plan wanna stay on the 30 I am paying now if it wasn't so hard trying to explain to slingshot csr's I'd call em think I might have to

No worries. I tried to see if I can change my plan from the website in the beginning and had the same issue. My guess is that a request for a plan change had already been put through for the next billing date and we can't make the change there, as we can only put through one plan change per month.

I suggest giving them a call and getting it changed there if you want to change it now.

The $30 plan is only if you have homeline with Slingshot. Do you have homeline? If you only have tolls with Slingshot then it's an extra $5 and would explain your letter.

talking to a slingshot csr i was informed that if your homeline is in the slingshot better network coverage zone and if you change over to that then slingshot has the ability to effectively keep the existing $30 plan. apparrently slingshot are building their own network independant of the telecom lines but its not in all areas and only way to find out is if you enter your current address/ph number into slingshots checker on their webpage then it will tell u if the slingshot network is in your area/exchange or not.

I though the BB plans where the same and the only cost difference was the homeline charges for being connected to Slingshots LLU 'the better network'.

You can still get the $30 BB plan if you have your homeline and tolls with Slingshot, that doesn't require 'the better network'.

This is called "unbundling" and has been going on for years now. They use their own gear at the exchanges but there's more to it. Other ISPs do it, such as TelstraClear and Orcon.

Well this is a great time to call 9pm at night someone answered in like 2 minutes anywho
I just called and spoke with a dude who confirmed my plan is changing on my next bill which is due in a week and I have decided to go on the one they're transferring me to as I am a user who doesn't really care about speed long as its faster than dial up and is CHEAP I wanted to keep my 4-8am offpeak if I ever change to any other plan in the future that'll be gone and I quite like that service it's gonna be $35.62 per month bout $5 more than what I pay now for BB and he said my 5GB's still stays the same although looking at the new plans they don't say that??
$35 for the 10GB highspeed same price im paying but less than 5GB?! huh

I just asked the guy from slingshot if clicking on the link on the website to change broadband plan says that to everyone and he said yes and is there because of the new plans coming just to ignore
it and that clicking on that page doesn't change your plan and won't until you request it.

Which plan are you thinking of going with?

i think it might be, however im not 100% sure.
Question: with the FS/128 plan, are download speeds throttled due to having the 128k upload speed limit? reason i ask is others i know who changed plans to have FS/FS noticed an improvement in download speed. If this is so, then the $35 / 10g Fs/FS plan is much better.

Download speeds can be hampered by a low upload speed. I think you'll be looking at a ~max 4mb/s tcp download with a 128k upload?
