DylanReeve: Damn should have checked this before - Uniden 6015 here doesn't play with Genius :(

I don't know if Uniden have yet to make a single phone DECT phone that supports GAP. They are the only DECT manufacturer I'm aware of that don't include GAP support.

Bastards. Probably fair though - it's the phone I got free when I signed up to Vodafone broadband a couple of years ago (before terminating my contract thanks to their stupid data block policy)

I have an old Panasonic phone that, after pressing lots of buttons in conjunction with the button on the back of the Genius - works! Can place the base anywhere we want without wires. Sweet.

Yeah the Panasonic from downstairs works just fine.

Dammit. I bought a new Panasonic 1611 from DSE today and I can't convince it to pair.

Also might be wise of Orcon to advise customers that the DECT on Genius is not compatible with Uniden handsets.

The Genius handset is pretty poor as far as voice clarity and ringing volume is concerned. We prefer to use the old Panasonic.

My Genius handset is actually broken - waiting on a replacement, in the mean time was hoping to add another Panasonic, but having no luck.

Even unregistered the existing handsets and now can't get them to re-register :(

Right, so I cannot register the new Panasonic KX-TG1611NZH but the older one (I think it is a TG1311) does register.

Both claim to be "1.8GHz"
