Splatty: Just found online information on how to access voicemail from elsewhere (have to phone an Auckland number though?!) It asks for pin. Tried 0000, 1234 and last four digits of phone but didn't work. Anyone know the default PIN?

I have PM back with all the details, let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Softswitch, you are the Genius, not the modem.

Thanks for letting me know my Pin, which once you told me what it was I realised that I must have chosen it during the sign up process... duh.

I will try the info you provided to log on with my existing router when I pop home for lunch today.

I really appreciate the assistance mate.

Guess what folks? I am online ... from home, using my old Netgear router! Softswitch provided a password that worked (not my Orcon username p/w) and after a few re-boots of the router changing settings I managed to get it going. The one thing I neededed to do was enter in a static IP address rather than isp provided ip. I got that from my Orcon user account page.

Awesome, so stoked - the family will be too!

All I need now if the Genius and all will be great in my world. I think Orcon should ditch it's phone based help and direct people here instead lol.

How about sharing that password and setting would be, really appreciated because now chorus is coming out to check line for the third time the tech who came out before has already told me the problem is with orcons end so I don't hold much much hope being connected before weekend comes
Also was told today by orcon support if I decide to go with other isp there would be a early disconnect charge of $149 as i signed up to a 2 year contract

Not that I ever got to use the genius service.......

Here are the settings I used:

Username: myorconname@orcon.net.nz
Password: Supplied by Softswitch. Was a cryptic number and letter combo
Encapsulation: PPPoA (PPP over ATM)
Selected Use Static IP Address - which I got from my account page on Orcon.net.nz Broadband Authentication page
Selected get DNS automatically
Multiplexing Method: LLC Based
DSL Mode: Auto

Hope this helps - what you really need is you log in password...

Recommend using server assigned IP address, rather than static

If we ever change your IP, it will break your connection if you have it set to static.

(Mind you, its only temp until your genius modem arrives)

Thanks Sound dude. It wouldn't connect using server assigned, but as you say, just a stop gap solution :) Better get back to work now!

Looks like we do have a number port issue with ours. Calling our line (on the genius) from my Vodafone mobile works, but from a Telecom mobile we get a Telecom message saying the number is not in service.

Have also been told calls originating overseas are the same (Assume because it hits the Telecom network which don't seem to recognise the number any more)

The modem is here and I am connected but some things don't seem right so rather than start another thread I'll ask here...

The username is genius@orcon.net.nz, have no idea what the passwrd is and probably don't need it, but the IP address comes up on speedtest as a Telecom ISP address?? 210.54.1X.XXX

Do I need to worry at all about that? When connected via the Netgear router it said Orcon as the ISP.

Hi Spatty

All sorted now.

As mentioned, the config had been pushed to your Geniuslite modem. I got provisioning to change to push to your full

I checked on our platform and i can see your online and your voip is working.

Softswitch will be removing your redirect soon.
