Love the irony that Geekzone serves me up a banner ad for Genius at the top of this page.  Given the apparent provisioning issues, I think I'll stay where I am for the time being.

And much as I hate to suggest anything that would take money out of @freitasm's pocket, Orcon, perhaps diverting some money from your marketing budget to some overtime funding for your service and provisioning teams might be a good idea?

I received a call from support at Orcon after someone else within the company asked them to contact me (presumably one of my former co-workers that are fairly senior there)...

It seems (although I'm still not sure that anyone really knows) that some aspects of my provisioning order were either never logged or were somehow dropped.

The person I spoke to explained, unprompted by me, that the high demand for the service has caused some of their automatic systems to not work sometimes.

Apparently he has passed my issue on to the provisioning team. They, of course, don't work weekends, and unsurprisingly are pretty busy (I bet) so they will probably get back to be on "Monday or Tuesday". And from then, who knows? If it requires a new Chorus work order then I expect a few more days.

Once again I say to Orcon - if your current systems can't handle the demand then stop taking new orders, you do yourself no favours with these problems. While it's frustrating for me as an existing company, it would be infuriating if I were transferring to Orcon from another ISP (and I presume could result in no phone or internet service at all).

You have that right mate.  Infuriating.  As far as I can tell the Genius I did get when it finally arrived wasn't set up.  Sent out "raw" if you like.  Have been contacted by very helpful Geekzone Orcon people but like you have to wait till Monday to get things sorted.  At least I can devote Sunday to doing family stuff, not being on hold.

I was on hold for 5 hours today ... took a few incoming calls then managed to lose the connection.  Is that a record, or a tale of incredible stupidity on my part?  Probably the latter.

The thing I am concerned about is that at least three colleagues have signed up with Orcon Genius after hearing me praise Orcon, the cost and the product... before this debacle of course.  God I hope their set ups go well.  They are not tech savvy and it will all be my fault lol.

Emp: Yup do it, I was actually going to go to the CEO's office.

Last year, when I first started posting on here, read my posts, about those Indian callers saying they represent Orcon, this is your IP Address etc etc - how they know my phone number when its not listed? Network issues with Orcon security?? Oh right they just dial every Orcon number there is.

I mentioned this to them in regards to the calling, they flogged me off for months about it and now it was all over the news/newspapers etc etc this year.

This issue is NOTHING to do with Orcon. It's Indian telemarketers who are just dialling every NZ phone number. Having an unlisted number doesn't prevent somebody from calling you.

Thanks for that.

Sadly that is not the case. I put threads up here and comments over a year ago or close to it. When these Indians rang, they had my Number (That was not listed), my Name of Account (Which was not listed and only Orcon or my Email would know that) Hello Mr "XXXXXX", my ISP (Indians can manage to get his along with my name, ISP and my Number), my IP address and then tried for me to allow them to give Remote Access - lucky I do have some knowledge of IT stored away in the vast memory of my mind, that really does not somehow thing or compute that they know so much information, not just my number - which if they did, I would be asking them for the Weather Forecast and the price of Butter Chicken Curry, One Cheese Naan Bread and a Pepsi (Which I do from the last two calls now) if that was the only thing they did know, Sbiddle. Perhaps read the previous posts and information people have been posting, your comment sounds as dense as their management a year or so back.

At the end of the day, I do not accept that some random Indians, know all that information. Not good enough and I did inform their senior Management, countless CSR's and Tier 1 support Desk (Along with one of their head networking staff - said he played Diablo 2, haha good man ^_^ ).

So probally a few of their staff would read this, forum would give my ISP addy, they know the account. How about doing something, I have rung up again with the comment that these curries know my IP Address, yet you do nothing. Laid a complaint with a few deapartments in the country about this, if security is at risk, you have to change the persons IP address - yet somehow, you guys think that its acceptable not to do so?

Two words, "Slack" and "Cheapskates", both of which Orcon are going towards at a very fast rate.

Emp: I swear I only stay with them cause my Girlfriend uses the PS3 to watch countless TV on Demand, which would destroy my CAP on Telecom.

You know that TVNZ On Demand isn't on the O-Zone anymore, right?

But any PS3 usage is? She uses it via PS3, is that gone now? =S Another hidden agenda.

It seems you have been paying for the TVNZ OnDemand traffic since June 2011 then... And it doesn't matter what client you are using, it's about the destination.

What Client I am using? Are you refering that all ISP's in NZ do not offer free TVNZ OnDemand anymore? Sorry 6.41am, new born kept me awake for most of the night, perhaps I am missing something here???

Thanks Simon - still some provisioning issues I'm lead to believe (presumably config changes not yet undertaken by Chorus?) but I'll check it all when I get home.

You are an existing LLU customer, so no chorus work was required. (Unless you needed some home wiring done?).

So your phone line should be disconnected now.

Right - that was my thought too but the person I spoke to on the phone seemed to think otherwise...

Oh well, will wait until I get home I guess :)

I suppose I'll have to factory reset again - seriously 10.1.1.1? Who uses that network! :)

I bet your call waiting doesn't work though (presuming you subscribe to call waiting) Every time I receive a  second call the call waiting blocks the first call.
Supposed to be fixed days ago but it still is not working correctly

Just joined Orcon and have been incorrectly provisioned. I now have no phone or Internet service after they notified me it if was provisioned. Calling the support help line is like trying to contact the dead. Been on hold for hours and their email support wont reply with a week

Hopeless service.... just hopeless.
