Just to make sure I get this right. Supa Prepay has no monthly charge but does cost $29.95 for the SIM. Then if you like talking a lot you add Talk100 for $25 and you get Best Mate anyway. It's not clear how much data or how many texts are included in the base plan but it looks like you get 50MB of data and 2500 texts for a month.
On 2D the base 100 minutes addon is $30 so one could argue that VF is better here.
But sensibly if you want to optimise your spending and get the best value you would go for the 2D $29.95 monthly (not contract) plan.
For that you get 60 minutes of minutes that can carry over 100 bonus minutes, 2500 texts and 50MB data. There is no best mate so if you talk a lot to one person (more than 60 minutes) then VF is likely to be better. So one has to look at one's calling patterns and make decisions accordingly.

I don?t think it?s especially relevant to compare prepaid and postpaid plans. ?People don?t pick prepaid because it is better value (it almost never is), they pick it because of the control.

techmeister: It just annoys me that I had to get my daughter(that was on 2degrees) a VF sim card because here friends (all VF) could not TXT her back, I guess it is how VF trap their customers and in fact sucks others in.
Lets not forget if it were not for 2D we would all be paying twice as much.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!
These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

Which is why on 2degrees we give you that control on postpay too.

Oh really? So if I’m on 2degrees postpaid and decide that I only want to spend $10 next month how would I do that without switching to prepaid?
Hmmmm
sbiddle:coffeebaron: Then what about non mobile? I have free on net calling with Worldxchange, VFX-VFX. Should this be ended too?
And "free" local calls, but that can't be ended - the law says free local calling must be offered by law by Telecom to residential customers, so other providers offering a PLV solution don't really have a choice but to match this!

It is a little wide of the mark to blame a telco for a decision that either you, your daughter, or all her friends made about who they wanted to use to get the best deal. But it is a typical reaction from some people.
Do you choose what petrol to put in your car based on, flybys, AA rewards, supermarket vouchers, company requirements, or none of these? Every knows there's no discount vouchers or loyalty schemes thru Caltex... but they're still in business.

Not exactly sure what you mean, I originally got my daughter a 2D sim card because for $10 a month she could have 2500 txt to any network where as VF's 2500 txt for $10 you could only txt other VF people, it's a no brainer really. Only problem is she complained that her friends (all on VF) could not txt her back, so I told her to tell her friends to get a 2D sim card it's a better deal, her friends told her that 2d sucks, I guess 13 year olds are not known for their clear thinking logic, so I had to get a VF sim.
I guess I should not really blame VF it's just good business, they can charge their customers $12 a month (don't think that was even an option for them back then) for 2500 txt a month to any network and get away with it and 2D cannot, simply because VF are cooler.![]()
