I no expert, but at a guess, I would say that the company that brings something like that in would make a killing... - People would be jumping ship from every one else to get to it. :)

Amen to that. Customers like to feel they have control over the products they're buying.

The data being discussed is fairly modest if you think about it. Data provisions should be higher imo.

$32 = 160 min | 400 txt | 530 mb

That's quite interesting. I recently changed from a $39.95 monthly plan on 2D to a $29.95 plan reducing my talking minutes from 120+100 to 60+100. I then added the 1G for $20 package to it. So in total $49.95.

Based on the new Skinny plans I would get the same 160 minutes for $32 and 500MB of data but only 400 txt. Since I use about 100 txt a month max that reduction makes no difference to me. If I could top up more data say, then Skinny is a much better option since the XT network is nationwide while my 3G data on 2D is only in the main centres. The only thing to watch is you use more than 120MB before the week ends since the 120MB does not renew until the next week and any overages will be charged at casual rates unless you buy another addon.

Guess I am going to have to get a XT phone. Since I was thinking of the Galaxy Nexus which I think is XT compatible as well as VF/2D when I get that I think I will be ditching 2D.

Yeah, something needs to change in the NZ mobile market.

The data allowances we have a pitiful but international standards, what would anybody want with a 3G tablet when the data cost you as much as it costs us?

A place where someone can take away your crown is bad, a place where people challenge the idea of a monarchy is worse. This I hate to say but this is why we don't see true 'plan customization'. We have something like it with the Voda Simple plans but the plans were nothing like the 'real' plans so....

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?

Does not look too bad.

Here in the UK I am on prepaid as I am only here for 4 months and the deal I have is if I top up 10 pounds a month I get all you can eat national text (you can choose if you want text or voice bonus's for your top up some companies have data too) and I paid 20 pounds for 6 months mobile internet which has a monthly limit of 500mb for files but you can still browse the web after you have gone over this.

Something like that would be perfect.

Except that you now have to type buy 19Text which you didn't before and the pack is branded as $19 text combo

Vodafone's prepaid smart plans now need a makeover. The closest comparison is Smart 25 at $25 per month. The only think that was keeping me with Vodafone is the bestmate, But now that these 2degrees plans include 30minutes of talk time it will probably cover it. Good news too about the 300MB data. I am seriously thinking of switching now

I wish 2 deg would do a smaller $10 pack though. For us with multiple phones in family on 2 degrees, it would be ideal
Something like 15mins talk, 100texts and 20MB.

Sorry doesn't do it for me.

For $16 a month with Skinny I get 160 anytime minutes, 400 texts and 40mb of data and a whole pile of Skinny to Skinny on-net calling.
