Yes i know this my post was a comparison ,perhaps i should have used vs instead of a separator as it seems some ppl have miscontrued this as implying that I had grouped 2degrees in the same frequency as telecom.
Apologies for the misdirection.

that's really weird. when i enter any building in dunners, my voda signal goes to bugger all, usually 2g only.

but 2degrees signal does not fade even in the multistorey concrete hospital building when voda has zero 2g signal, i am getting top speed with 2degrees internet.

surely they're using hsdpa 900MHz??

Only the launch equipment uses 2100 3g only, Dunedin has 900mhz 3g. My best effort is just shy of 5mbit here on a LG P500, on Vodafone I get around 2mbit using the same phone in Mosgiel

aw :( unfair, what is with that?!

I get really bad coverage in places on 2100Mhz in christchurch, sometimes my phone will lose coverage all together!

Anyone think they'll upgrade the chch cellphone towers?

Nope, I don't think 2deg would be likely to upgrade chch/wel/akl/ham/tau to 900mhz 3g as well as 2100mhz 3g because they have been designed for cell tower placement for 2100mhz.
It would be nice though because as you say even in the cities 2100mhz coverage can drop back to 900mhz EDGE.

sometimes my phone will lose coverage all together!

Did you let Customer Care know? Please PM me your number and where exactly (street #/suburb if poss) it's dropping so we can check it out. Also include your phone make/model and time and date of coverage drop.

so i signed the wife as a guinea pig on the $39 plan and found it good.

went to an invercargill dick smith told them i wanted a SECOND plan ... after 20 mins of very slow moving clicking i got signed up.

then luckily i asked for a copy of the contract - they couldnt print it so called head office.

head office says the contract was cancelled. i can't have two accounts in my name.

YIKES ... another 20 mins of slow clicking to get my money back for the sim ... then the guy said hmm strange, the last time someone wanted to sign two numbers the same thing happened ...

&^%$ after 1 hour you told me that!!!!

That's weird, you should be able to have more than one connection under your name...

haha here's a new fact for ya today. believe me i have spoken to at least 5 different 2 degrees people, there's nothing funny or weird about this!

At this stage unfortunately you cannot have more the one contract under a consumer (personal name)account.

These are the options if you want to have you wife under your account.

1 Sign a business contract as a company (ltd),sole trader ,limited partnership ,society or trust and you can both be on the same account and enjoy free calling to each other.

Or you could just have your wife sign up under her name ,use your email address for the bill so both bills come to you and set a up a credit card authority or direct debit so you don't have to worry about the bill.
