only other idea I get is that you will co-locate transmission gear on all current VF/XT sites where possible going to full national coverage

SteveON:  You dont have to buy the pack if you have a plan, it already has national data.

Thanks,  I understand I don't have to buy the data, as I've already paid for it in my plan. The problem is that 2 degrees don't seem to understand that, and keep telling me I need to buy National data.   If I have credit on my national plan, they don't need to bug me.  The transition should be seamless.

I guess that's a really good way to make happy customers happier - pretend the money they've already paid isn't good enough. Frown

Thanks for all the other replies. I look forward to a solution.

Thanks for your patience everyone.

http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/help/account-notifications

If you decide that you don't want to receive low balance notifications for Value Packs, you can opt out of these notifications.

We send you text message notifications to keep you updated about the status of your different 2degrees products. These messages will come from the number '2degrees' or a shortcode starting in 2.

Most of our customers find these little reminders helpful for managing their account, however, if you decide that you don't need these, that's fine too. You can opt out from certain notifications (and opt back in at any time) so that you're in control. Remember, once you have opted out, it's up to you to keep track of your account in Your 2degrees.

The notifications that you can opt out of are:

Low balance notifications: for Value Pack balances and balances such as Top Up and Get free texts

Out of Zone notifications: the text message you get when you move outside a Mobile Broadband Zone at alert you to the fact that you'll be paying standard rates if you connect to data.

Can't connect notifications: the text message you get when you are out of credit but your phone (usually a smartphone) is trying to connect to data services e.g. automatic Apps

Here's how to opt in and out of these notifications: -

Low Balances
To stop - Send STOP low to 233
To restart - send START low to 233

Out of Mobile Broadband Zone
Send STOP outzone to 233
Send START outzone to 233

Can't connect to data
Send STOP lowcredit to 233
Send START lowcredit to 233

We're making 2degrees better! :)

2DegreesCare: I don't want to raise your hopes, it's not about pricing, or National Data being all MBB data or vice versa.

However, please allow me to take the opportunity to remind everyone that the 1GB (per month for a year) on new sign ups to $39 and above Pay Monthly plans BEFORE 1 April is NATIONAL DATA, that can be used in and outside of our canopy. Great value!

http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/paymonthly/plans

These penalising existing customers things are annoying.  Are there any plans to allow existing users national caps to be raised, or to increase the coverage area to include all of Auckland?  That said right now I can't check if I'm roaming or not because there's no coverage at all...

These are a good start and are much appreciated, but the ones that really bother me are the pointless "your bill is due to be paid in x days but you're on auto debit so no action is required" messages which I seem to receive three times for every billing cycle. I'm hoping than an option to stop these will be available at some stage in the future.

If existing customers can switch to a higher plan or fixed term plan before 1 April they'll qualify for the 1GB bonus.

Where in Akl are you?  Check our coverage map to see what the signal 'should' be like - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/mobilebroadband/broadbandzones

If you're finding drops where there should be good coverage after checking your settings - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/settings please PM your number, the exact location and your device.

With the 'we've just topped you up' message, these may be a little harder to turn off as we have to let you know if we've taken money from your bank account.

Cheers

Oh, hmm, I think this coverage map has changed since last time I saw it.  It's showing no coverage as far as I can tell.  In "Search networks" it shows: 2degrees GSM, Vodafone NZ WCDMA, Vodafone NZ GSM.

Currently, data isn't working at all.  But it wasn't working in Newmarket yesterday either.  And the icon changes to R sometimes, 4 bars sometimes, no signal other times, seemingly randomly.  Data does seem sketchier than voice, but both can be a bit hit and miss.  Like right now it's working on Roaming, with G..

Where's the Vodafone map?  Is there a way to force roaming on all the time?

Ahh found:

http://www.vodafone.co.nz/coverage/

And there seems to a bit of a coverage blackspot.  Is there a way to roam onto Telecom's network?

You will not be able to roam on Telecoms network and as Newmarket is in our coverage so you shouldn't pick up a roaming signal 'R'.

Where exactly is this blackspot happening? To properly investigate we need examples and info.

Can you PM me the following -

Your 2° #-
Exact location/address:
GPS Co-ordinates (if possible)
Handset make/model:
Date Occurred. When did it start?:
Frequency of Issue.
Is it intermittent or constant?
Is it when you're stationary or moving?
# of Bars of reception:
Has Service ever worked at this location?
What happened with SIM in another handset?
Alternative contact number in case we need to call and check your settings.
Is it in or out of building?
What network are you on when it happens? 3G, 2G?
Any error messages:

A lot of info I know but to fully understand the issue it really helps.
Cheers
