What do you mean but check the hosts file, this is what I get when opening it with notepad:

Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

I shall restart my router and see if that helps, thanks.

What happens if you open a command prompt and enter in the following?
tracert s-static.ak.fbcdn.net
tracert s-static.ak.facebook.com

Really does seem like a browser issue, very odd.  Have you tried installing firefox (I mean, I love chrome, but it's worth a go)?  Also, you could try opening an incognito window in chrome and trying from there - would help sort out if it was a cache/cookie issue of some sort.

I'll install Firefox tomorrow, see if it helps.

It certainly doe seem odd to me, since there is no pattern with the issue?

I guess I'll just wait it out and see what happens.

Phexx: Hopefully it just fixes itself sometime, things tend to happen like that on computer.

What did I tell you?

Opened Facebook and everything seems to be ok, visually anyway. I did have to go through the "name this device" menus which were missing their style sheets, however from their it is all looking good.

Really appreciated the help guys!
