Thats the sort of response I would expect from a $700 plus device review, but from a $50 device? Come on mate, youre being disingenuous to say the least about a product that retails at $50. Be fair, this device is probably not intended for full on Android geeks or similar, its really there to give new Android users a cost effective experience, introduction to Android, at a ridiculously low price.

Actually I agree with Richms. I found the same. I loaded virtually nothing extra on the test unit I bought and once updates for the stock apps were installed, there was no storage left on the device to install anything else, despite shifting everything I could to the SD card. I couldn't even uninstall any of the apps that came with it to make space. The only way to get space back was to uninstall the updates, which have then downloaded again. I know $50 or $59 as I paid isn't much, but it showed so much promise at the start. Once rooted, maybe that will be restored.

I got this tiny toy from NL on boxing day for $45; TBH, I would not even bother to update or root it; not worth the effort for me.

It's only my back up phone; all the smart phone features are just nice bonuses; I'm happy with email, facebook, good search all integrated and that battery life is decent; small and light enough to carry around

Good enough for me, for that price and for those features.

But the point is this, at the price its selling for you can not expect manufacturers to install more memory, so its a trade off. If you want the bells n whistles you speak of, then buy a device that has the on board horsepower to support your expectations.

To have more memory would drive the price way over the NZD$100 mark.

Sure, you would expect to pay more for a phone with more memory. The problem here is that the manufacturer has included bloatware that can't be uninstalled (without rooting).

I took this away for a week to Rhythm&Vines, was pretty impressed with the battery life, but gave up on using the camera, even in well lit situations,

Anyone finding that wifi on them doesnt work with WPA2 only networks? It shows as WPA/WPA2 in the network scan, right passphrase in and claims that it is wrong. As soon as I back the network down to WPA it gets on and works. Obviously not an option to leave on WPA.

Saw this at home and didnt think too much, but same thing at work.

mine worked fine on wpa 2 only before I had to change it to wpa for my Xbox :(

I've tried every way I could find on the internet but none of them worked for me.
If you're running out of space for apps make sure you clear your app caches
