They will not be relying on 700Mhz at launch, I can assure you that. Building a network when there are no handsets to use on it isn't the smartest idea in the world.

Actually I am happy they're going with 700 Mhz as my Moto X supports this freq and not the initial Europe LTE frequency

That suck for me then, Moto X only supports 1800 for 2G. The Europe Version does support LTE on 1800 though. Now I know why they didn't bring the Moto X to NZ.

It does support LTE on 700 Mhz though so that comment about 700 Mhz phone being released after December 2014 isn't true, maybe it is for NZ.

There are no phones on the market that support APC band 28 which is what NZ will use. It doesn't matter what your phone supports 700, it will be one of the US 700 bands (bands 12 and 17) which are completely different and not compatible.

Expect to see the first devices supporting band 28 on the market by probably mid 2014

It will work on the 1800Mhz network (band 3) and Vodafone's 2600 network (band 38) but no, it won't work on the 700Mhz APT band which is band 28 as mentioned above.

I suspect DoCoMo in japan will be th first to release handsets with Band 28.

Telstra expect to have 700 MHz supported handsets for the apt band plan in the next two months.
