Thanks.

I suppose though it will be roughly the same even if I move to fiber then.
The trace route is done from my VDSL connection here in chch.

I wonder if MR could optimise the route and give a new reading?

mAYH3M: Just an update.

Static IP did improve my latency on TCP.

Bandwidth and Latency to most Australian servers is better than Telecom (MEL,ADL,BNE are all sub 60ms and PER is somewhere around 82 ms) other than Sydney.Sydney is ~37ms on MR and it was ~35ms on Telecom.

US bandwidth is pretty limited fluctuates between 9 Mbps to 25 Mbps for servers on the East Coast and they don't have enough bandwidth to NA,opposite to what has been claimed here.

Overall a decent choice if you want Phone+Internet for $109.Nothing exciting for gamers as it might be worse if the servers are in NA or Asia as other ISP's do provide more bandwidth and better latency.

It would be great if others on MR could post their Speedtest.net results to Internode servers in (San Jose and LA) and the Singtel one in Palo Alto.

MR Gamer Plan with static ip, requiring low latency for work and just switched from Orcon UFB

Internode Servers
San Jose : Ping 197; 34.16/29.19 https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3875912928
LA : Ping 198; 35.31/17.65 https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3875916824

Singtel
Palo Alto : Ping 162; 20.10/37.50 https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3875923720

Just pulled the plug, made the switch, and noticed that my World of Tanks tracert is worse than mAYH3M's one - I'm getting roughly 300 to the login server, just goes whacky at the Telstra Global gateway and hits 300 instead of 150.

Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

The link between Perth and Singapore was severed a few weeks back and will be online by 25/12.Most of the traffic to Singapore is being routed through Hong Kong.

And that'd probably explain it.
