BigHammer:mattiusb: Why have they done this?
There seems to be no advantage at all to paying the extra and being on a business plan. Nothing but disadvantages. That has surely got to be the shooting one's self in the foot part of the new plans?
These plans are tailored for Businesses of all sizes to suit their needs whether you bring your own phone or join a plan on a 24 month term to receive the plan bonus which you can use towards purchasing a new phone. Alternatively, you can spread the cost of new phones or tablets over 24 months interest-free.
Keep calm, and carry on posting.

BigHammer: The Business Select plans look just like over priced residential plans. No subsidy mentioned that I can see? Perhaps it needs to be made clearer. And as above, what are open plan prices please?
Stasis007: I'm coming to the end of my 2 degrees contract and been greedily eyeing the Note4.
So, a Note4 + 5G plan = $29 down + $116/month.
Compared to Vodafone's $149 down and $99/month... and without the potential hassle of having a $1149 phone on a repayment contract.
Dunno if I'd call this dragged, "kicking and screaming into 2015". Maybe just closing the gap on competitors?
The 'value' of the new deals is a bit deceptive, since they don't include the phone discount bonus of the old plans. And personally, I'm not interested in the monthly phone repayment scheme. Mostly psychological I guess, but if I drop my Note into the ocean, I'd rather not feel like I'm still paying it off each month... And yes, I know it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other, but it just feels like an extra hassle to consider.
Either way, guess I'm transitioning to Vodafone now :(
Wade:
\Unless im missing something, for unlimited calling/text + 5gb data i get the folllowing costs....
On VF Red+ $149 down, $129/mth = $3245
or VF No term $99 down, $99+$43/mth = $3507
On 2D $29 down, $69+$47/mth = $2813
I know where my money would be placed ;)
jjnz1: @2DegreesCare, Website specifically does not mention the 24 month bonuses. What then are the plan prices on an open term?
Can I grab a residential $49, 2.5GB plan open term for my business account?
I really like the one bill many connections arrangement I have with my business account, but it seems the residential plans provide better value (for eg $49 inc GST for unlimited).

Consumer plans cannot be added to a Business Account, however Business Select plans are all excl GST and while we acknowledge the Consumer $49 plan and the Business $60 plans have the same allocations, additional benefits of the Business $60 plan include Free Landline On Your Mobile (worth $20 per month) and an optional handset subsidy when taking out a 24 Month Term.
That's a minimum $9 extra value on the Business Select $60 (not including the benefit to the business by having LOYM on their account), and up to $500 extra value if the customer also chooses a subsidy.
We think that's a pretty good deal.

Far from it. Our Business Select plans offer a generous phone subsidy if you want to join on a 24 month plan that Consumer customers do not receive. Plus all business phones on the same account can call each other for free too.
