Having just entered a 24 month term, what I want to know now is if I can change my Gigatown plan from $99 a month to $89 a month
And does that reduce the term from 24 month to 12 that new sign on get?

I have a week before my new month starts, and will not call today to find out as I suspect there will be a bit of confusion

Thanks,

I swear it wasn't there before.

I had a play and it appears it isnt the same plan.  Phone is included in the current gigatown plan.  But when you go to sign up on the new plans you have to pay $15 for phone per month.  Unsure if this is the same for existing customers, but if so, it means its actually more expensive to swap to the new plans with 2degrees.  $104 vs $99.

I know, its only $5, but no incentive to swap there.

I've tried changing my plan ~ 3 times now with no luck.
Rang up as well and they couldn't change it either as for now they are using the same website.

Website is having issues!

Also still no update on NEON offer for existing customers. 2degrees on Twitter says to contact the customer care team for a promo code. I did and the customer care team don't know anything about a promo code.

Guess we have to wait until they fix things.

Hi all

Some of you will be aware we had a couple of teething issues with the website this morning - it all loooks to be resolved now (certainly the orders are flowing in!) so we'll get some comms out to our existing customer base soon.

Thanks for all the feedback - we do appreciate all of it. We spent a lot of time coming up with the new plans and really do believe that they offer something for everyone. Having said that, we know that some of you have signed up to Snap promo deals which were priced very sharply at the time, so if you want to stay on one of those plans then you are more than welcome to do so.

With regards to the $15 Home Phone Plus service - on the face of it this may look like it means a more expensive price than a current Snap offer, but it does include unlimited NZ & Aus landline calling. In the old Snap world Unlimited NZ landlines was $10/m extra, so we think the value of the new offer is pretty compelling.

We also now offer Naked UFB services as well, which we know many of you have been asking for.

Cheers
Ralph

Thanks Ralph. Will give it another go now. How do I get the NEON offer?

I was just about to sign up one of my customers to SNAP for business, but apparently the @work plans are unavailable now? And the website is showing "We’re not quite ready with 2degrees Business Broadband plans yet. However we’d love to give you a call and discuss your needs so we can let you know as soon as we have something suitable. Just give us your details below. "

Just spoke to someone on the phone in the call centre as well and apparently it is several weeks away.

Seriously?

Jiriteach:
Now that's weird because I want a new Fritzbox and I cannot see any option to add one even though I already have an older one!

Are you doing that by logging into the portal and clicking the "Change my plan" button?  That's what I'm doing and it then takes me through various steps which ultimately brings me to a page where my only options are to pay for a new modem or get one free in exchange for a 12 month contract.

RalphFromSnap:
BYOD is not available for launch, although we will review this again in a few months.

I'm assuming this doesn't apply to existing snap customers trying to change their plan to one of these, with a modem originally supplied by snap?

Well Done Snap new plans look good overall.

Personally I disappointed about the land line increase.

I don't make calls to Aussie or National calls using my current Snap Landline so they are saving me $10 with the Gigatown plan price drop and costing me $15 for the landline.

I know I can stay with what I had, so am not losing - but disappointed that my yay savings moment turned into an *bother* - nothing good here moment.

What happens to promos like free static IPs? do they stick around?

Also can you use the $10 discount for pay monthly more than once? I have two VDSL connections (on different but linked accounts) but with the increase of the cost for the POTS line, it's almost not worth if it I don't get a discount on both connections..

As an aside the 2degrees SSL seems a bit broken, 2dm.co.nz and 2degreesbroadband.co.nz are trying to use the 2degreesmobile.co.nz cert...

Also not so keen on the phone line increase. It's only for our alarm which calls my mobile, so unlimited landlines is worthless.

The lack of upfront comms & what to do for existing snap customers is a bit of a nightmare to be honest. Nothing on the site in any of the help fields to give an indication etc.

Last comms were June 8 saying you were merging and then this is just dropped on us. Not cool.

Big thing that is bugging me is that the Customer Care Team don't know either.
Had a call before from one of them. Asked him about getting a new FB and the NEON package and he told me to just follow it through on the site.

When I told him I had done that and it failed AND there was no option for either of these, he said to me that its definitely there and to try again.
Pretty sure its not there as I got to the last page before submitting after logging it and hitting change my plan and couldn't see anything so I have no faith that it will go through properly.

Eventually gave up as he kept saying to try again. Wtf?

When I go to the snap.net.nz website that forwards to 2degrees it has the page header then "Something's gone wrong!". Fail.

Hmm. Just tried to go through the plan change on my 2nd VDSL, and it told me I need a new modem.... (but it didn't with my first connection)
