How about a Prepay top up system similar to what telco's in Australia offer
e.g top up $49 and get $310 worth of credit loaded onto your phone (thats from vodafone Australia's site)
at least offer double-up if you can, I remember when vodafone last offered it and I likely set a personal record on how much credit I had on my phone

I wait with bated breath, but they're investing a lot of time, money and effort in a couple that's already oversubscribed, so they must be in it for profit right?

However, my challenge to them is to lead through innovation rather than purely price cutting. I'd rather have a true competitor that provides me the services I need personally and to run my business, rather than a cut down version of Vodafone's Base Plan (even without all the awful conditions).

Think TelstraClear but giving it a real shot in New Zealand, and that's what I'm hoping NZ Communications will be. I also think they need to change their name to something a little more snappy than corporate:)

Hey, someone who knows the diff between bated/baited...

But seriously, how about 'Rollover', unused calls/texts rolling over, like Optus (Australia) did/still does have?  And Half the data stuff I don't even understand, but all the rest of the suggestions seem good to me.

But definitely do not employ CS reps who are happy to lie to your new customers...

Awesome but unlikely.

How about provide free unlocking for all non subsidised phones?

Don;t knock the locked handsets - its a nice money earner for people to unlock them at markets and stuff in the UK, I expect to see the same happen here if/when they start selling them locked again.

Mreh. Locking becomes pretty irrelevant if my cell company treats me so well that I never want to leave...
How about just be a great old fashioned good service company that keeps it's customers by making them love it so much? You would have an edge if you said 'VF/TNZ are corporations, and they're all corporationy. Come here and chill out. Have some cake, grab a beer. Peace duuuuude!' (you know the kind of cake i'm talking about)
And PLEASE. Dont try to use PR Spins around here. It's GEEKzone for pete's sake. Sheesh! (emphasis on the underline-caps-bold-italic geek!).

Edit: Spelling
