Does the free sim come at the cost of having to port a current number? Or does it come with a new 2degrees number?

Overclocker01: Very impressed with the free SIM / $5 credit... IMO a very good marketing move. I wonder how many SIMs they have to give away for free. Sure beats paying $30.00 for Voda SIM

Does seem like a good start - interesting that despite their size Telecom didn't seem to give away many free SIMS to attract Vodafone customers.

It will certainly be great if some really good competition starts between the major players.

If you read up a few posts you will see it comes with an 022 number

Agreed it is quite an awesome advert. Can't wait to see the actual pricing details

When I posted that, I didn't notice that there was more than one page.

Great idea.

Definitely looking forward to getting one (if there're enough). It only took me a few weeks to become annoyed at Vodafone's (obfuscated) billing.

Had a laugh with the ad, but now I'm wondering if 2degrees will suit me. I'm a moderate mobile data user and caller, and 2degrees looks like it's targeting the lower-end of the market.

Anyone knows what is the data rate on those free $5 SIM cards? More keen on testing 3G speeds than actual voice coverage.

Very limited 3G on 2degrees until January when they launch blanket 3G coverage.

thefatmould: just to save other members trouble if you sign up to there "chinwag" deal you will recieve a 2Degrees Number on the sim you will not change your number over

We will support porting just like everyone else, but no, the SIM you get in the mail won't be pre-ported.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

When the end logo is up, the voiceover says two words, and it sounds luck f **k off or perhaps bugger off?!?!?!?

Good ad, I like My Darbey

Why would Telecom be peed off?  They've know that 2degress was launching in August.  Maybe Vodafone  would be more nervous as their GSM fones  can have 2degrees SIMs put in with out any problems..

Telecom peed off because 2d ad is much better.

I think thats why Vodafone is going to start locking their newly sold phones!
