Slingshot: We reviewed all the XT offer accounts and there is still a lot have haven't activated or billed yet - and won't do for some time. This means the clean up can't happen for around a month.

As a result, the best thing do to is speak to the call centre. They will credit the difference.

Appologies.

I have huge admiration for you but also pity you in your job because you seem to have to clean up a whole lot of stuff :/

I know you couldn't possibly comment but if it weren't for you a lot of us probably wouldn't have had the confidence to do any business with Slingshot.

Many thanks.

Thanks.

Yes it's not fun at times... however the feedback here is great, and why I keep coming back. Helps us improve our service.

I'm on the XT plan.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but that comprises of:

Rental for day of activation through to your billing cycle anniversary (18th of month).
ie. 27/3/2010 to 18/04/2010 @ $20.00/month = $14.84

First FULL month's rental in advance.
ie. 19/04/2010 to 18/05/2010 @ $20.00/month = $20.00

If you get billed the same way we did, then you will have $14.84 + $20.00 = $34.84 worth of charges.

They will then give you an XT switch credit of $20.00 (ie. 1 month credit)

Which then leaves you with $14.84 to pay. Which is what we have been complaining about because the terms of the offer suggested that there would be no charges for 12 months.

So if I'm not mistaken your bill will be for $24.85 which is $14.84 plus $9.99 courier fee.

I would talk to Slingshot about the $14.84 charge as I believe this was not how the offer was proposed.

How did you get on Clark? I have the same issue, except for $18. That's practically a whole extra month I have to pay for! Has anyone else got Slingshot to credit their bill?

I was told that "it should have been explained to me that this would be charged" but they credited it supposedly as a "goodwill gesture".

Seriously how did they think that they would be able to run an offer along the lines of: "sign up for 12 months (plus a part of the first month) and you'll get 12 months free access (you pay the part of the first month)"?

Honestly I've never heard of a "free for x months" offer where you had to pay the for access up until your first billing cycle anniversary date.

Hi

I too got a "pro rata" charge of $26.69!!! I rung the Accounts department, clearly explaining the only charge I should recieve is the $9.95 charge explaining to him when I signed up to the switch from xt deal, I did ask the ss op if there were any other hidden costs. He said no there wern't.

So all I have to pay is $9.95.

Cheers

Yer well I rung and complained, but still got stuck with the full bill. Will see what happens with the bill in the next few days to see if there is any credit...

Hi all,

I’m Nikki, I’ve replaced Scott who used to answer the Slingshot queries.

I’m sorry to hear that some of you have had a bad experience with our XT notwork offer.

Firstly, I want to reassure you there was no intention to mislead our customers. Our system automatically pro-rates the first month and unfortunately that wasn't appropriate for this promo - it was an oversight on our part. I apologise for this and hope we can make it up to you!

If you still have an outstanding query about your bill, please call our contact centre or send me a private message through Geekzone with your details and I’ll arrange for someone to contact you to sort it out.

Thanks for your feedback – we have taken this on board for future promotions.

Cheers

Welcome Nikki!!

We have certainly had a lot of fun with Scott since this offer was first announced. I hope we haven't driven him to insanity!

Are we allowed to know if Scott remains at Slingshot? Because he was seriously brilliant and saved Slingshot's bacon - I fear for the Slingshot signups that don't use Geekzone or other support forums because they probably have suffered even more than some of us have.

Anyway welcome on board and here's hoping we don't have to talk about more than just the weather!
