I still have no idea of what is coming for sure, but tomorrow morning (2nd August 10:30am) I will open a new discussion and start posting updates live from the event.

I am packing for tomorrow morning and just checked the SIM card 2degrees gave to me last week - I am bringing it for live blogging. Found still have about 1GB on that account. FTW!

This is the speedtest on my Magic (Desire has Vodafone Sim in it):

To be honest, that's not to shabby, the ping seems to be a bit high though. That's slightly faster than what I was getting on Vodafone. Let's hope there's a cheap data plan (I tend to go through the 50mb blocks every 5 days or so)

Wait, do I need any more sims? When I moved house I counted 6 of them in one of my drawers. It seemed easier to pay $2 then to try and find the one you have got >.<

$2 sims aren't available anymore. New sims are $5 with $1 credit.

^^ Yeah I know, they are still available at Smith's City though at the $2 + $2 credit price though, this was from the time I was working at Vodafone, used to use them to test devices.

Warehouse Stationery are offering the $99 512MB + modem package with 2GB on purchase. Data valid for 30 days.

Also disappointingly says "Data Packs valid in 2degrees Broadband Zones only." Frown

I are disappoint. I bet vodafone won't bother offering better data at all, why would they?

Back to lost customer status again.
