hellonearthisman:
System: I agree with your comment hellonearthisman but there is one point your missing, the problem isn't that there isn't good speeds all the time, its the fact speeds are slow at all times the last few days, if it was prioritization then wouldn't you see varying speeds depending on the time of day and how busy the network is? Because what I have been experiencing is the same slow speeds across the board no matter what time of day it is, i essentially don't get anything more than 100KB/s or sometimes a little bit higher at any time of the day.

And before you say my line can't do more than that, i can usually reach speeds of around 800 KB/s and do on this plan for the first 20mb then it slows down.

Is your total speed locked to 100kB/s can't you get more data down by connecting to multiple places.
Yes, RS may only get 100kBps and torrents 100kBps but I can get those speeds from both at the same time and can use other sources as well to get closer to my max line speed. Doesn't that work the same on the AYCE plan.

Yes i can get 100KB/s at the same time as 100 KB/s from Rapidshare but that wasn't my point, its also capped at 100KB/s from normal HTTP downloads that arn't from filesharing sites.

And they specifically stated that FTP was going to be prioritized over p2p like torrents and rapidshare, then why can i download just as fast through rapidshare and torrents as i can through FTP.

I have been getting terrible throughput at peak times recently. Thought it might have been caused by Slingshot running out of bandwidth.

Time to find a new industry!

Sometime around 3:20 am my connection became useless.

Resume in my http downloads, they will go to 300kB/s for about 4-5 seconds, then plummet to zero and time out.

FTP is barely able to connect, and keeps timing out. Managed to get 2 flac files down in that so far.

torrents are just dead except if the cache connects - then its 230-300kB/sec

web unusable even when I had paused everything except the ftp that wasnt connecting.

If this plan is this bad, then what hope does all you can eat have? They cant even get free offpeak to be usable for just one thing.

I've been getting ~20kBps for HTTP downloads for the last 8 hours or so to one site, 2kBps to another.

Took me 4 goes to load this thread after clicking post in another tab (to check I didnt multiple post by reloading).

Im going to go inside to reset the router soon, since the web interface died about a week back. I have in the past found that disconnecting and reconnecting would un-screw the limiting when it has being doing stupid crap like this.

After reseting it, its slightly better - dropping to 20ish kB/sec on the http. FTP was all over the place but not timing out. Didnt try with torrents concurrently.

Eureka is almost done. Started it at about 1 on torrent and saw no action from the cache so started it from the seedbox at about 2:30 - so thats 2 hours for a 43 min show. Wonderful performance there slingshot. Others can download things faster than they can watch them. Mind you, it seems that on anything but youtube that doesnt work on slingshot either.

Ive noticed speeds dropping each night off peak from last Sunday.

Speeds have dropped 25% ever since the all you can eat plan came into effect; each night speeds drop even further.

I am not on the all you can eat plan.

Connection is BAAAAD tonight. Webpages are loading like dial-up. I'll chalk it up to the weather for now, and hope that it'll improve when it clears up.

Speeds have been going very slow, very little information coming from Slingshot on their forums apart from that they know there is a problem, for me i have had speed problems for a week now, $80 a month for speeds that go from dial-up speeds to 256kbit speeds and then back down again? that is not right.

Yep, it's been reported in this thread in the Slingshot forum also.
Best to ring them up then spend a total of up to an hour (oh boy...) at work tomorrow on the phone to file a proper complaint ticket through their help-desk.
