Wipeout:
jmosen:  Using your cell phone to make calls could be the next big killer app.
LOL!

And I agree re minute roll over. :>

+1.  This is the one major change on the cell fone plan market in NZ.  A good feature for those  who talk less one month and lots the next.   Marketing people excluded because they always seem to exceed their alloted minutes Money mouth

Well done 2D.  Now all we need is a data rollover  on the data plans  (50 / 512meg) ..

What about corp / company fones on plans??  This seems aimed at individuals i.e driver license required.

openmedia: I have to agree that it should have included 50MB data as part of the plan.

Also I'd like to see some capped international calling like Vodafone. At the moment all our AU and UK calls are made on VF with the $2/hr cap

Sorry folks, but I disagree. Mobile data should be an add on. A lot of people don't use mobile data, and a lot of people don't even have mobile data capable 3G handsets.

You are the exception.

Totally agree! How can anyone complain about 2degrees "not having data included in the plan"? Just add it on! At $59 for plan + data + 100 bonus minutes + rollover minutes it still beats the pants off ALL equivalent offers. Awesome stuff.

For some reason I was thinking they were going to release prepaid monthly plans, similar to ones found in the US. Where you choose a plan, pay for that month upfront at the start and in order to keep using the plan the next month you pay up front again. No payment no use, but no contract.

Oh well, still a good move by 2D, will be interested to see what the other plans are and how the other telcos respond.

The only thing stopping me from switching to 2degrees is the likes of Bestmate and Family on Vodafone.

Currently have 4 mobiles with Vodafone, on the Family plan.

If 2degrees offered a family type arrangement as a addon to their Pay monthly plans, I can offer them 4 new customers.

Any news on whether the family concept is being evaluated?

I totally agree with the Family Plan request. No other carrier has this, and it's a huge saver for us.

Will be making the change this afternoon! For $39.95 on VF I get 60mins and 600 texts and a bestmate addon. But for $0.95 less I can get the same texts and 160 more mins with 2D! The bestmate doesnt bother me as I have the extra mins...

I also agree that data should be an add-on for those who choose to use it. At the moment it is affordable in the city centres and once 2D have a nationwide network we will all see data at low costs. At the moment users outside can gain cheap enough add-ons anyway.

Im Happy and cant wait to join 2Degrees!

Thanks 2Degrees

I was really looking forward to switching over but as others have said, without included data I won't be changing as my costs will increase.

They should have two plans, one with no data, and one with data but lower the numbers on the rest.

How do they handle businesses signing up? The documentation appears to relate more to individuals rather than entire organisations signing up... is that deliberate?

not a chance for me to even consider this - I'll keep my 3g data which is way more important

Don't forget they charge minute+minute not minute+second as Vodafone and Telecom do on their On Account plans. In my experience this can make a difference of around 25% on the cost. When I am comparing I add 25% to the minute+minute rate to get 'apples to apples'

You do know you can add any of the existing packs (including data) onto this as well?
