Tockly: I'm in Silverstream in Wellington and I seem to be stuck on Edge. Performance is not flash!

Can you please explain how this relates to the thread?

Thanks

It relates as I am normally on 3G but since the weekend I have been on Edge, so as the title is "2Degrees Network Failure" I thought that it may apply here. Am I wrong???

Very different issue

Oh please forgive me... As I'm not an expert as you are in all matters cellular...Oh and in marine radios...

And as the first post reads "Is anyone else experiencing issues with 2Degrees at the moment, or know what's going on?" And as I experiencing issues I guess I was completely incorrect about posting about an issue I was having...

That's exactly what I had at the races (as per my earlier post). I was surprised that they would lose 3G service during such a major event, and that the fault still remains several days later.

Are you still locked to EDGE or still getting drops here?   Please let us know the exact location so we can look into it.  PM your # if req.

Anyone having problems on 2degrees today, I've has several unsent messages, calls that won't connect "DUE TO TECHNICAL ISSUES" and "YOUR CALL CANNOT BE CONNECTED DUE TO OVERLOADING" voice messages.

I've got an LG990 andriod phone, which can sometimes be problematic but today have had more issues than usual.

Also

I was driving out of Dunedin today heading north, I was on 2degrees network and then the call just died, took a couple of minutes for my phone to re-register on VF Roaming then I was away again. I thought the soft handover between 2degrees and VF was possible? is this not the case?

Yes. I had just upgraded my phone to Gingerbread in the morning, then, later on, I saw the the phone would not connect to 3g data. The 3g icon was coming and going, and, I had no data connection.

A bit of a worry, until I realised that the problem seemed to be more widespread, I couldn't send a txt message, USSD services did not seem to be working and I could not log in to "your 2degrees".

Still, when you have just changed the os of your phone, and then there are large issues with it....

I've had no data connection at all since about 8am this morning, in Devonport.  APNs OK, data connection toggled on/off, phone rebooted - no luck.

I wasn't able to send a pxt last night. Rang the call centre and they just wanted to check my settings... which were fine. No acknowledgement of any problem.

I was told it was unreasonable to expect an of the problem on Monday, because it was a holiday.
I wonder if there's any chance of an explanation, or even acknowledgment of the problem, four days later?
I found that by locking the phone to 2g, I got a connection this morning, and 3g seems to be back up again
