aight, thanks for the quick replies.

sounds like it's pretty stable and i'll just suffer a bit of a ping increase during peak times which is to be expected.

guess i'll be making the switch soon.

Detruire: Mostly fine but Aussie routes can be pretty bad some days (160+ms to servers that are 70-80ms usually.)

Pings to any Call of Duty or CSS server in New Zealand averages about 5 to 10ms I get about 40 to 50 when playing on an Aussie server.

Signed up to the unlimited plan for our new place last week, got connected on Monday, moved in yesterday and everything is great. Streamed Netflix in HD to the PS3 for a couple of hours last night, no buffering or anything.

At the moment, very happy with this plan :)

Switched over to this as well... my homeline was connected yesterday, but still no broadband. I was told that I may have to wait up to 48 hours for the broadband to get connected. Is that normal? The text message I got says there's will be services disruption for aprrox 3hrs...

My broadband connection went active about 7pm after my phone was connected at lunchtime, My modem was syncing straight after the phone was connected however.

Since I moved to slingshot from xnet I have noticed a huge drop in net performance, particularly when downloading via torrent

, my speedtest results are always good but I find when trying to play games or sometimes when streaming videos my connection will randomly drop (game losses connection to server or vid stops buffering, PPP is still up), this is made much worse when downloading via torrent (even with max connections and upload speed turned right down).

This was never an issue when I was with xnet so if someone can advise why this is happening or better yet a fix/workaround it would be greatly appreciated.

Yea i have considered that but on xnet I was running it with an 800 max global and 300 max per torrent with no issues whatsoever, now I cant even have 40 max global 20 per torrent and 1 kb limit on up speed without it causing games to drop

Cant really think of anything that would cause the problems you seem to be having, I haven't noticed those same problems myself since my connection on the 10th.

If anything my torrents have been performing better than any other type of traffic.

Since that last outage my connection has been crap i was getting 14.08Mbps now its dropped down too 12.84Mbps, youtube sits around 100Kbs i use networx to monitor my bandwidth speed etc and it does sometimes zoom upto my max line speed but suddenly drops down to around 85kbs to 100kps, at night twitch tv is starting to lag out for me at 720p so i don't know whats.

Hrmmm seems the issue lay with something to do with uTorrent, after switching to Tixati I am downloading Ubuntu at 1600k and playing minecraft without disconnection. thanks for the help anyway.

I don't know if downloading via Torrent is a good idea.

You might just get a lot of activity from: AP2P on CallPlus Service Limited @ 119:224.129.37, on a numerous number of different ports.

Can anyone elaborate on what this is about? What interest does Slingshot have in running this sort of thing on their servers?

Even if you don't have any torrents loaded, simply starting up a client results in a bombardment of AP2P.

Looks dodgy anyway, so I'm staying away.

I wonder if Slingshot is monitoring content downloaded by heavy Torrenters .. ?

Also, does Slingshot get annoyed if you download too much? I'm amazed at the amount of data we've been able to get through with 6 people using the account and two Samsung TVs connected to the router via network cable. We don't have Freeview, so HD YouTube it is!

I'm constantly getting full speed for everything apart from between the hours of 5 pm - 11 pm (or slightly later at weekends).

This is the best plan I've ever had for general internet use. Telstra cable was the best for gaming, but I no longer game.
