Neori: Use Visibill to track how much data you use. It updates quite frequently. When on Visibill click on internet data usage and set the drop down menu to current bill period.

Ah, Thank You for that, Never noticed the dropdown menu sitting there.

It appears in the 16 days since being connected I have used... 484GB.

I'm a new Unlimited slingshot customer, is it normal for ftp speeds to be as slow as 13KB/s? It seems super slow, especially compared to what was with my previous ISP.

Pretty much. Since around the time that they dropped Pacnet speeds have been 50-99% (depending on the type of traffic) slower.

Yeah, it has been fairly good (except for the almost constant issues with Youtube during the evening) during past months... it's a pity that they don't seem to be able to keep it up.

hmmmmmmmmm I wasn;t actually that unhappy with my previous provider - speeds were excellent, I was just a little limited by the dat caps, This unlimited deal seemed like such a good idea.....now I have to wait 4 hours for a 350MB file :(

Im finding my ftp seeds are progressively going downhill earlier in the day.

its 305pm atm and speed is at 250KB/s. Goes all the way down to 100KB/s in the evening.

(top speed is 2.1MB/s)

How many threads is that over? I've been really happy with unlimited getting a decent amount thru everyday.

Only reason I keep the other connection is redundancy. and so I can still use it when uploading since slingshot won't do vdsl to get me a decent upstream speed

Currently 4 with SFTP. Adding more doesn't seem to make a difference (even if those are to another server.)

Hi guys,

We peer directly with Google in Sydney for YouTube traffic, and we host their caches in our network.

Our current upstream provider for our transtasman connectivity is unable to meet our bandwidth demands, so we are in the process of shifting to a more suitable provider. This will occur mid to late next month, at which time YouTube should be running unconstrained during peak times again. If you hit the cache (popular clips) you should already be unconstrained.

We were disappointed our previous provider couldn't meet out bandwidth demands, but once this is resolved we will be back to scaling bandwidth with user growth.

I use 20 threads. Runs fine in the morning up until about 1pm

My FTP speed will drop to 15k/sec in the middle of peak time also, and I'm on a standard plan

Pretty much constant 2 MB/sec here (16 mb!) - apart from between the hours of ~4 pm and ~12:30 am.

This plan is the absolute shizz.

Then again, I'm not using FTP like you guys.

FTP and VPN traffic appears to be capped at a maximum speed of 200 KB/sec.

At this speed, you can still download 483 gig per month though!

If you're getting impatient, try looking at alternative solutions. :) :)

My usage is rapidly dwindling though and will continue to do so, unless I start investing in some serious HDD space!
